While I'm hoping that my customer doesn't have the kind of miserable experience that seems to be common with LaserShip (though I fear they will), I wanted to let everyone here know that if you have Prime (and it's not a free student prime or amazon mom prime account) and your order arrives late, you are supposed to get a free one month's extension on your Prime account, up to a maximum of 12 extensions a year. When they use these lousy carriers that deliver late (smartpost, lasership, etc) be sure to press them on this issue.

If you don't have Prime, but your order qualifies for Guaranteed Accelerated Delivery, you are entitled to a refund of the shipping fee.

If item gets lost, you can press them for both a reship and the extra month of prime (I successfully got both just last week when my order got lost before it even got to UPS).

If you need to prove to them that you are entitled to one month extension of Prime, the page is at: www[dot]amazon[dot]com/gp/help/customer/display.html/?nodeId=201117450

The first part of that page deals with non-prime orders that qualify for Guaranteed Accelerated Delivery. At the very bottom, though, is where it says you get a one month extension on your prime account for late deliveries.

Anyway, like I said, I just wanted to make sure everyone here knew about the extension thing.
Thanks for the info. I will try to get an extension next time my prime shipment is late.

Up until knowing about that page, I only ever got "sorry". In the past 2 weeks I've gotten two extensions (one with that lost order and one for a late one). I don't know when this became policy; but, the next time it happens and you don't get the extension, reopen the case and request that they honor their policy and give you a month extension on your Prime.

Of course, a $10 gift cert. is a higher value than the month's extension (since one month of Prime figures out to $6.58) but if all you get in response to your initial complaint is an apology...

You're welcome

Re: Amazon sent by LaserShip (WHAT the hell is it?)

LaserShip is not a reputable company at all. The tracking said it was delivered. I called and after OVER AN HOUR on the phone going back and forth between me, the rep and the driver, they finally delivered it to the right place. Finally they got the driver to the right address and while the guy from LaserShip was handing me the package, he was on his phone telling someone "I left it there!" when in fact, it was not left anywhere near my place. He took it out of his car as he was telling this to someone over the phone. The delivery guy seemed upset about the situation and blocked the sidewalk. I didn't have space to walk because he was standing inbetween the wall to the building and his car and I felt physically threatened. I had to quickly squeeze inbetween with my box. I have the video footage as well as the call logs where I spent over an hour on the phone describing the place. I was also hung up on twice when I originally called. They didn't even want to help me at first, their attitude was "oh well, it says it was delivered". LaserShip is probably the worst company I have ever dealt with. shame on them
