Do you cut out your internet coupons before going to the store?
Sometimes I do, but sometimes I don't. A few trips when I didn't have gotten me the evil eye from the cashier (BB and Borders) who then make their displeasure clear as they loudly, purposely rip the coupon out. Most times, the cashier is good about it and just folds the coupon and put it in the drawer/pouch. I can certainly understand that it could be annoying to them, but then I feel they're out of line to show hostility toward the customer.
So, does the majority take the time to cut or not? (I just cut out my $10 reward zone coupon so I'm trying to be good.)

I never cut them out. Sometimes the Cashier rips off the bottom half before he/she puts in in the drawer, and sometimes they don't.

I usually cut them out. Edit to add: I don't if there is wording on them outside of the coupon that may help prove the legitimacy.
Since we're obviously running out of thread ideas, here's the next one. Does anyone re-use the paper they have after cutting out internet coupons?

Honestly, It gets really annoying when someone is too lazy to cut out a coupon. If you get enough of those coupons and you just keep folding them up, soon you've got a massive stack of papers and you can't jam anything else in there. Just cut 'em out.

I don't cut them out as ususally it has the browser url information on it. I guess in my mind that maybe makes the cashier more likely to not think it is a "fake".

Re: Do you cut out your internet coupons before going to the store?
I've cut them out so far, but given that I'm quickly tiring of being regarded as an amateur scam artist for trying to use these things, I'm inclined to take the entire sheet of paper with me if there's something other than the coupon printed there. For instance, I've decided not to cut out the Toy Story 3 movie cash certificate, because the terms of use are printed above it and they explicitly state that theaters are to accept the certificate even if their listing reads "No passes."
With the Disney coupons, they tend to print graphics or remarks of some kind and I think those will help add some sense of legitimacy to the coupon. In a perfect world, everyone would be intelligent enough not to need to see a picture of Buzz Lightyear telling me I can recycle my DVD case to accept that a printed coupon is legit, but we're not living in a perfect world.

It's not just online coupons...when I got my first job at a grocery store (many years ago...) people would hand me full pages from the Sunday ads and expect me to cut the coupons out for them. The thing was I worked for a union grocery store and the cashiers could NOT have scissors or box cutters (they didn't want employees cutting themselves and getting workman's comp) so I would have to carefully try to rip the coupon out myself as the moron customer would stand there and ask if I had scissors. Oh yeah, right here up my ass but I decided to rip it out just for fun.
Some customers apologized and offered to cut them out next time, some just never got the clue.
They only have a small slot in their drawer to put the coupons in, so yeah...they have to cut it out. The ones that don't are probably having the person who counts down the till at the end of the day rip them out. Your refusal to cut them out only makes somebody else do it later on. I would rather make the customer wait while I cut it out if it was me. They want to "save time" by not cutting out the coupon? Well, you saved time to spend it watching me cut it out, so how did that work out for you? I think cashier's should cut them out when the customer doesn't. You admit you understand why it's annoying so you continue to do it? And you think the cashier is out of line then? I love threads where people admit their behavior annoys other people and then seek out justification for their annoying behavior by trying to rally complete strangers to their cause online. Oh, that is much better than just changing how you do things to accommodate other people on this planet.

I don't usually cut them out - I can keep track of a whole sheet of paper much better than a little one. If they're small enough I might cut it out and put it in my wallet. But I tear it out, as close to around the dotted lines as I can, before using it.

And I'm not trying to justify anything. Seriously, I don't think I have to justify not cutting a coupon off a sheet of paper. (And, that is ridiculous that you dealt with folks who brought an entire coupon book with them and wanted you to cut one out, I sympathize.) But I do apologize that this thread ticked you off. Certainly not my intention.

Being on the other side of the register a time or two in the past, I do think it's HIGHLY inconsiderate of people who bring in sheets of paper with one small coupon on it. Some of the coupons even have the dotted line and a scissors icon by the dotted line to inform you what you should do with it.

Seriously, most of the customers of the particular store I operate don't even care aboug the rest of the coupons half of the time so they'll hand me the whole sheet and tell me to keep it...Thanks a lot assholes, all I wanted to do was rip out your coupon that saves you a dollar. For the customers who do want the rest of their coupons....they still want me to cut them out, I don't have scissors at the register ever, what would my use for them be? Coupons should ALWAYS be cut-out in advance. I'll take their sheet of coupons and coupon book and mangle the shit out of them, if they didn't care enough to cut them out, why should I?

Re: Do you cut out your internet coupons before going to the store?
I usually do cut them out although I have to say the last few coupons I have gotten from Best Buy and Borders have printed out so big that they fill up the whole sheet of paper anyways.

Re: Do you cut out your internet coupons before going to the store?
I usually cut them out so I can fold them and put them in my wallet. If I'm printing a coupon that I intend to use that same day (within a few hours of printing), then, I just take the whole page.

I was behind a guy in the checkout line at B&N once who had an internet coupon he printed at home and had cut out. The cashier refused to accept it because she was sure it was phony. The guy said it was a national coupon, everyone knows about it. The cashier said yeah, but everyone else's coupons were still on the full sheet of paper so how could she know his cut out one was real.
The manager came and told her to take the coupon.

Back on topic, sort of, I made the mistake of starting to print my Facebook Universal coupons on a computer with no printer. Now it won't let me print them anywhere else, thinking that I already printed them.

I can't imagine not cutting coupons out.
Seems like a colossal dick move to hand the cashier a full sheet of paper or full slick ad page.

I'll cut out the coupons when there is a dotted line outlining them. Usually with the Disney coupons and so forth.
Surprised Borders cashiers have given you an evil eye for store coupons OP, their coupons usually print full page anyway.

It's interesting to see people with strong feelings on this, though I'm not surprised. I concur that I sometimes worry a coupon will be turned down and felt the url on the top of the page somehow magically prevented this. All the same, I've never had a coupon turned down because it was cut out so I suppose it's a moot point.
