Exactly correct.

They canceled my last membership. Now everytime I go in to look at something and maybe buy a dvd they want me to reapply. I tell them no thanks.

I lost mine too, right around 90 points. I'm a little ticked but it just gives me another reason to hate BB. I only really shop there when I have gift cards. The rest of my business goes to Amazon.

Re: Best Buy taking away Reward Zone points!

i only had about 55 points, but they're gone.

i'm worried that a $500+ purchase i made on 1/30 will not go through. it shows as pending right now (i know it takes some time for it to show up).

more reasons to hate BB, i suppose.

+1 on preferring to wait for amazon. especially with the free trial period.

Ive got four transactions as pending, and it also says they took ~$100 worth of points.

I only really buy from BB when it's a large purchase. All small are from Amazon or eBay.

Thanks for the head's up.

I sent an email complaining about the fact I had purchases pending that would of allowed me to cash out if it didn't take them 45 days to process things now. They gave me my points back. :)

If you really want the points back, just send a quick email and see if they'll post them back. Can't hurt to try.

I don't shop there often either, maybe twice a year at most - usually Black Friday and for gift cards for xmas. Online is just cheaper especially with California tax.

I don't shop BB enough to really get upset over the 90 points I just lost....especially since it would have been awhile until I could actually get a whole $5 off. -rolleyes-

I guess this is just the motivation for me to finally admit that BB doesn't really have much point in my buying needs anymore.

I haven't lost any points, but maybe because I'm a silver member until tomorrow.

I will agree that the program has become an absolute joke as compared to what it was when it started.

So is this why I keep getting emails from best buy saying I have $20 certificates ready but when I log into their reward zone website it says I have $0?

It's like that old joke about the Soviet Union having a ten month waiting list for an abortion.

Same here have not lost any points yet and Silver Membership ends Feb 2010.
Have about 320 points in my account now. I made sure I banked them.

Made a $400 purchase last week but that has not been credited to me yet. As far as another year of SIlver Member ship I guess this will be the last month. I thought we were close to spending another $2500 the Silver Membership Calendar year but I guess not.

I emailed them about my points. They responded and said they are going to give me a five dollar certicate and add 200 points into my account. However, it hasn't shown up for some reason so I will believe it when I see it.

I've long given up on their program. The only time I shop there is online during their HBO holiday sales or their black Friday sales. Otherwise I avoid -- thanks to amazon prime.

It will take a few days or so to show. Mine took about 5 days to show up online .

Re: Best Buy taking away Reward Zone points!

Last week, I had 247 points. Tonight I have zero as well.

I just fired off a complaint email. Seeing that I spent over $2000 at Best Buy on blu-ray media alone last year, we'll see how they respond. I have no problem giving my blu-ray business to Amazon instead.

After loosing 230 points, I e-mailed Best Buy.

They put 500 points back into my account. I guess I can't complain about their response, but it would be nice if they admitted that the whole "annual points expiration" is crap.

Given that I live in the middle of Bumblefuck, I don't have much choice as far as brick and mortar electronics stores.

i just emailed them also, i stupidly went in the store tonight and bought movies not realizing this had taken place, and my points should have went up to 500 with the 150 dollars i spent.
now i have 0
If they dont reinstate my points, iam returning those movies next week, and will take my bussiness to frys.

Sending an email seems to work. I received a reply saying my 223 points will be restored in 3-5 days.

I also sent an e-mail. They promised to reinstate my 241 points and put a $5 certificate in my account.

Where are you guys emailing Best Buy at? I lost 65 points and they issued me a $10 voucher for the rest of them, so not as bad as you guys, but it's still bull that they do that, and I want my goddamn points back. I spent at least $1000 there in the past year, including most recently, a laptop.

^^^Just use the "contact us" form from your RZ account page.

Re: Best Buy taking away Reward Zone points!

@Indy Yes, the CONTACT US form works. I have just always received a faster response when sending mail directly to [email protected] over using the form itself. :)

Wish they would have offered me the $5 certificate some of you are getting, in addition to your points. ... Oh well. At least I got my points back.

I just logged onto reward zone and not only was mine reset...But my point total is now -257 points. I emailed them. I've about had it with Best Buy.

Wow. Been a member since 2002 and this is your first post? Long time lurker, eh?
I agree with your username, by the way.

After the second email (both through Contact Us while logged in) I got an email yesterday saying I'd get my 235 points back "because I was so close to a cert." they're not there yet, nor are my points from a purchase 1/5.
