Best Buy did a consumer satisfaction poll, and learned that Best Buy customers do not enjoy receiving free paper, and would much rather pay Best Buy's retail price for paper.

Who buys full priced games, and only at BB? Like DVDs you go where the sale takes you, or in the case of games, where the best pre-order bonus is.

Also, Amazon sells most new games for $3-$6 off delivered to your door. You get the same discount without paying for some arbitrary membership.

He was talking about the ECA discount, so I think he meant to say "if you only buy from Amazon." The 10% ECA Amazon discount is down now anyway, but they say it should be up again later this week.

I think the new policy sucks! I live about 45 miles away from their nearest locations so I doubt if I will shop [I]at least once a month[I. Plus there are not that many DVD releases I want - other than those on my "want list."

Their Reward Zone program was the main reason I shopped there at all so when the new policy goes into effect, I may buy from others on-line.

Re: Best Buy changing Rewards Program

I actually had my threshold set to $10.00 instead of $5.00 last year when I was getting RZ certs. I spend enough at Best Buy that when I had a $10.00 RZ cert., I would save it for a new release that I wanted or something that I've been waiting to have a decent price drop. I can't remember the last time I walked into Best Buy and spent less than $10.00. I also stopped printing them, and I would use them on-line instead on their website. I became a Premier Silver member this year, so I get free shipping. I'm banking my points right now for a big ticket item. I don't know if I'm going to qualify for Premier Silver next year. If I don't, then I'll probably drop my threshold down to $5.00 so that I don't risk losing points.

I still don't understand why a $10 threshold benefits anyone but BB. Is it just that you don't have to deal with two certs?

Re: Best Buy changing Rewards Program

I think that it was he shopped there so infrequently he'd rather have 1 $10 cert saved up than 2 $5 ones and risk the first one expiring before he was ready to use it.

Only logic I can see in it. But just earning that second cert (or dollars 6-10) would take several trips anyway and why not just have used the first $5 on any of those purchases?

I love looking back at all the changes from this program over the years in this forum.

they still wait past 30 days in case you take the item back. i guess with a silver membership you have 45 days, buti haven't seem them waiting that long to post. i'll let you know for sure though soon as i bought some games last month and it's coming up on the 30 day here shortly.

Re: Best Buy changing Rewards Program

yeah, it's anywhere from 30-35 days....a bit longer sometimes if you bought multiple items on the same receipt and made a return of one or 2 items.

Re: Best Buy changing Rewards Program

just thought they might extend it for silver rewards members, since you can return items up to 45 days with it.
