Never heard of em'. Sorry for you, though. I know it sucks when a favorite place to shop or hang out is gone.

Never heard of them. I wonder what they were? I wonder if alot of .com places will go under this year? It seems like I hardly buy anything anymore, except for gas, food, toilet paper and some other essentials like beer and smartfood popcorn.

According to their forum, they're back open as of today.

I thought I recognized the name since we have a few here in San Diego. I don't think I've ever used them, though.

Once again they seem to be closed.

According to Wikipedia (which we all know is ALWAYS right.. right?):

On July 29th, 2008, PC Club closed its doors permanently. Leaving many employees without accrued vacation pay that they were owed, and stranding many customers without the systems they had in stores for repair.

They had a story on the local news about the local PC Club store closing down. The employees said they got 3 hours notice. I never bought anything there personally.

I bought 8MB of RAM from PC CLUB back in '96. It was my first PC upgrade, doubling the RAM in my first PC. I think I bought a hard drive from them a few years ago as well.

They didn't have great prices, they were small, and really they always felt like a hole in the wall mom and pop store. Newegg and other stores like that just killed any kind of speciality these kind of stores would offer. And Best Buy and Fry's kill them in terms of store presence.

I'm not surprised they're gone, and it must suck if they have your computer in the shop right now.

I wonder if the government will come in and help these employees out...
