Where did you buy your new TV?
Well, I've decided what TV I want, a Panasonic TH-42PX80U.
Amazon has it for $1000 shipped, a good price. But I looked into it deeper, and the actual vendor (Electronic Expo) is on the BBB "Not Recommended" list.
Circuit City online has it at $900 shipped. But the reviews of CC on PriceGrabber make them sound like a scam outfit. People are finding that CC doesn't refund you for damaged, unshipped, or defective merchandise. One guy is can't get a refund for a $1900 TV that never shipped.
Where can I get a good price and good customer service for a TV?

I got the Panny 42PX75 from Amazon last month and the set had a dead pixel. I returned it to Amazon for a replacement. They no longer had the PX75 in stock, so they gave me a $100 credit towards any TV that they sold. I just ordered the PX80 for $899.98 from them. If you have any problems with a TV sold by amazon.com, they'll replace it or give you a full refund like they would if you got a bad DVD. That's why I feel completely safe whenever I order something from Amazon.

It seems odd to me that some customer would lose their new-in-box HDTV at Walmart. But I guess if the store manager said it's okay . . .

Do you have a CC near you? Buy it in store instead of online.
I got my Sony 60" KDSA3000 at Best Buy. Due to savvy shopping and some dumb luck, I ended up getting it for $1799.99. There were a few places online that could beat that price or were about the same, but I prefer to buy something as big as this through a B&M store.

I received the TV in perfect shape and in only 3 days via standard shipping so I couldn't be happier with my experience. I tend to review the sellers feedback on Amazon here first when making my decision whether or not to buy. They are a legitimate company who has stores in NJ and their own website with thousands of positive experiences so that was enough for me to buy from them.
Just bought from them a month ago.

Crutchfield online has the best customer service and it lasts for the lifetime of the TV. I just bought about a month ago the Sony KDL40w3000 from there and because of a coupon for 20% off and no sales tax and free shipping could not have got the TV anywhere else that cheap.

Crutchfield. 20% off, shipping free, and a free stand.
The company delivering it is a piece of work, but Crutchfield sent me a $50 gift certificate to make up for them delivering the TV 4 days after they said they would.

I usually BestBuy for the large/expensive items like this. I know some better deals can be found online but I like having a physical store and someone behind the counter I can talk to if anything goes wrong.

I just got my PX80 from Amazon today(delivered by Eagle Global). Everything is A-Okay except for one stucked pixel. I'm not too concerned because it's on the very edge of the set and I can only see it when I'm a couple of inches away. Besides, stucked pixels can be corrected, dead ones cannot.

Wal-mart. It was 5 years ago, before I really started paying attention to TVs. I bought a 27" Phillips SDTV and paid $250 for it. I can't complain since it hasn't screwed up at all since I bought it.
