I received those check mailings even though I've never signed up for anything
through them, nor put myself on any type of mailing list. I did however call
immediately after receiving the 1st and had them note my account that I did
not want such a mailing again. I've since received 2 more (these were a while
back).

Deep Discount isn't the only site with that 'promo' FYI.

If this is in response to my getting the checks, DD CSRs admitted during phone
calls from me that the mailings I had received were due to them.

Both items in my latest DD order were messed up. The case for "Batman: The Complete 1943 Serial" was completely split along the spine and the "Sony Pictures Classic Collection" didn't even come in a box. It was just the individual films.

Otherwise I probably have a 75% success rate with those guys. That reminds me, I still have a broken copy of Grand Illusion to return. They went ahead and sent the replacement out right away so I kind of forgot about the bad copy...

I sent some stuff back to them on 1/7. Haven't heard anything yet, so I'll probably call tomorrow.

It's obvious that the various DD threads are hurting them and they're branching out into other areas from the title of the spam below I got in my inbox .

I've ordered with DD for several years now and never had a problem, until now.

Back in November I ordered an Oskar multimedia cabinet. I received it via UPS on 11/30.

Jump to 01/23 - I get an email from DD that my order has shipped. I check the tracking # at the bottom which says the package has been delivered back on 11/30. I figure the email was a system glitch and nothing was sent or charged.

A few days later I check my bank statement and see a charge from DD. I promptly email them asking what is going on. They coldly reply that the order has shipped and I can refuse it if I don't want it. Not so much as a "we're sorry".

I email them back that they need to contact the shipper and have them return the merchandise because I'm sure it would be left at my doorstep and I didn't want to deal with getting it returned. I also asked them for a tracking number. They respond that they cannot contact the shipper and that it was shipped via USPS Media Mail and, conveniently, there is no tracking #.

I tell them that they're mistaken and there's no way they sent a 50+ pound bookshelf through USPS Media Mail. Again they say they did.

Now I'm stuck waiting for something that will most likely never arrive so I can refuse it so I can get my money back that they stole.

Man, I was waiting for the next 20% sale to pick up a few box sets. After reading all these horror stories I'll just get them elsewhere.

Nope. He gladly shills his website, but isn't here to answer why this company has become a joke.
