Entertainment.com gripe
I don't know if this is the right thread, but I need to rant:
I bought an Entertainment book a little while back almost exclusively to get discounted movie tickets to Cinemark theaters. I placed an order on their website on November 28, in plenty of time to have them before all the 'Oscar' movies start coming out. The shipping time was 7-14 days. Cool. Well, as of yesterday (12/19) I still hadn't received them. I called because I really wanted to use them on Sweeney Todd this Friday. They informed me that the tickets were out of stock (huh?) and they wouldn't have them back until sometime after Christmas, but couldn't tell me when exactly. First, they should not have let me place an order for an out of stock item. Second, why didn't they contact me to tell me they were out of stock? I would have had no idea had I not contacted them first. So, I tell them the only reason I bought the book was for the tickets and I wanted a refund for the book. They refused a refund and basically said there was nothing they could do. Unacceptable. I think I might call back today and see if I can get a hold of someone who will actually compensate me for my trouble.

Can't you just call your credit card company and dispute the charges? If you haven't received anything I don't see the problem.

Well, I have received the actual entertainment book which I really don't foresee myself using. I'm just urked that the only real reason I signed up isn't actually available.

I ordered a book last October and recieved it days later. Well today, I get an order confirmation email for another book that I didn't send for, although it has the same order number that my previous order had. Still, when I log in to my account it says that I have ordered 2 2008 books. I just sent a nasty email askiing what's the deal with this email. Has someone else had the same problem as me?

Update to my other problem - no change. Needless to say, I will not be buying one of these books again.
