TVShowsonDVD.com/Amazon - anyone else getting annoyed?

I don't usually mind this sort of thing, but they're out of control with the constant advertising of Amazon sales. It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't in the "TV on DVD" news that's usually reserved for, you know, NEWS. It's literally every single day now.

Am I overreacting, or is it really annoying/lame?

Is it not a service? Kinda like ''hey, here's some good news! XYZ Show is coming to DVD, and since we're serving you as a news service dedicated to TV on DVD, if you fancy ordering it, Amazon are selling it?''

Its not like it automatically forwards you.

I think it can be easily seen as "news". It sounds like the annoyance comes more from the OP feeling like he's being force fed commercials, but it isn't like anyone is being forced to click on the links. I think many probably appreciate the heads up with regard to the Amazon tv on dvd sales.

The frequency has increased because there are tons of sales during the holiday season. I really don't see the issue. It isn't like all the new news stories are pushed off the main page because of all of these sale announcements....

And people say that nothing is changed since they went corporate.

The frequency increased months ago...not because of the holiday sales.

Like I said, it could definitely just be me...it just seems annoying. Surely they could come with a second section for it, or something...I dunno.

But the deals they tell you about are pretty sweet. $100 for full Buffy series? It's obnoxious that you can't see 'just' news stories but at the same time, I love knowing the sales.

Since they do mention deals I'd most likely miss otherwise, I have no problem with it at all.

I like it, I wouldn't know about some of the deals without them letting me know.

Some of the deals they push are good, some are not so good. I do find it annoying that they only push deals from Amazon. There are plenty of good deals elsewhere that they don't mention so it gets annoying when they pass those up to hype a mediocre deal at Amazon.

What gets me is that they all center around the exact same season sets. There is never any different ones. So I basically ignore them cause they are never on shows that I want.

My only gripe with tvshowsondvd is their emails. I sign up for emails about certain shows, and they send me an email saying we have a news item on show xyz. They took the time tell me they ahve enws, then include it in the email.

I personally LOVE it. Most of those sales I'd never know about unless they posted it.

I say THANKS to those guys!

I don't mind it you never know when it will be something you need. Would have been all over Buffy if I didn't already have the complete set.

If they're getting paid for it, I have no problem -- TV Guide wants them to show a profit. If they aren't, I wish they'd post sales from other sites, and maybe create a separate section for it outside of news.

As these "news" items are all fairly obvious from the lead-in that it is a "ad" for something on sale at Amazon I really don't mind. There have been a few sales I might have missed otherwise (and I typically check Amazon every couple of days for sales). They were pointing you to these before TV-Guide bought them and were very clear that they derive some revenue from this.

Why even read the email? The subject tells you "news for xxx" or "release info for xxx". When I get these I never bother to read the email. I just delete it and head over to the site to read the news.

I liked the upfront approach they took in posting the latest deals the other day. I no longer have any issue with it, although I didn't have a big problem with it in the first place.
