Does Amazon.com usually have a pre-Holiday Sale?
I just won a $100 gift card to Amazon.com and I'd like to start shopping as soon as I receive it in the mail. Actually, I've alrready started "Wish List"-ing things, but I've been doing that for years.
Anyway, if they are known for having pre-Holiday sales (or "Post" for that matter), I'll probably hold off in hopes of trying to make my dollar stretch further.

You are better off waiting for the special deal of the day offers they have once in awhile. They had great one day sales on box sets like six feet under and others in the past.

Another option (and one that I'm counting on) is to try to snag one of the AMEX Wish Certificates in their annual Wishlist Contest. These are good for 25%-off on pretty much anything that Amazon sells.
I just checked the AMEX website and it looks like it will be starting in November this year:

Right now if you go to Amazon and into the DVD section and select 'Horror' from the genre list, they're have an 'up to 55% off' sale on horror dvd's. Not sure about other holidays though.
