Amazon slipcovers always damaged?
Is it just me or most of them are damaged? I mean I've ordered 7 movies with slipcovers and 4 of 'em came either dented badly, smashed on a corner, ripped a little...I mean, I don't mind minemal damage even though I'm picky but this is ridiculous...
What about Deepdiscount or DVDPlanet, are they better at handling slipcovers?

I just got the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 from Amazon and the slipcover was fine. I think it's just a random thing, but they should have better quality control on what they ship out.
Earlier this year I ordered Wild at Heart from Deep Discount and the slipcover was totally mangled, even though it was covered in shrinkwrap. Another slipcase in the same order was in fine condition. It's just a roll of the dice, unfortunately.

I am not really particular about getting slipcovers, but one time I wanted Little Mermaid on DVD and I wanted a copy with a slip cover but without any stupid store stickers on it. The DVD came without a slip cover (from Deep Discount...not sure if they got them in that way or if they take them off to avoid customers complaining about damaged covers).
I went to Blockbuster to steal the slip cover off one of their retail copies (I had to still peel off the sticker, but theirs come off pretty easily and I just slapped the price sticker on the actual DVD and put it back on the shelf.)
I am really anal about the condition of the slip covers so now I just buy them in the stores (when I get the hankerin' to buy a new DVD with one) but I peel their stickers off first to make sure the slip cover won't be damaged when I remove them.

I've heard you can actually contact Disney's customer service department if you received a copy without a slipcover. They can mail one out and have been doing this for "The Jungle Book" recently.
I got "The Lion King" without one, but it's now too late to request one since it's OOP.

This is what I do when I order a movie online and it arrives with a damaged/no slipcover.
1. Go to any b&m store and buy the movie with a mint slipcover.
2. Remove slip cover and return the unopened movie the next day.
The only cost is the gas and the time spent doing the exchange. I work across the street from a Best Buy so that isn't much of a problem for me.

I just returned a book twice to Amazon because of cover damage. They wouldn't let me order it a third time.

I ordered both Grindhouse DVDs from amazon last week and the Death Proof DVD arrived with slipcover and the Planet Terror DVD did NOT come with a slipcover. Now, I don't know what to do...I understand that it's obsessive, but these two more do not like right on the shelf now that only one has a slipcover. I'm considering just throwing out the Death Proof slipcover to have some peace of mind for myself.

I very rarely get a damaged slipcover from amazon. I sometimes get the box cutter slit across the side, and true that annoys the shit out of me. But I gotta say I've probably recieved more mint slips than bad ones in my years of ordering from amazon.
