12/27 - got my credit today

so three weeks from my door to getting credit. not bad considering they were probably busy over the holidays.

Sparrow 12-30-07 09:34 PM

I sent in a shipment on 12/15 and anticipate that I'll have credit available by mid January given my past turnaround time (3-4 weeks from receipt to crediting my account).

I'm eyeing the Post-War Kurosawa and Agnes Varda sets in January (my first purchases of the year ;) )

jewellrunner 12-31-07 08:47 AM

I sent some cds to Wherehouse.com and got a <7 day turnaround - during Christmas season. Sounds like dvdplanet could use some pointers.

Reading the horror stories in this thread, I abandoned my plans to send my discs into DVDPlanet last fall and chose Wherehouse instead-- They processed my items immediately and accepted everything I sent in, and they also sent emails every step of the way so I'd always know the status. Couldn't be happier.

I sent out about $164 in HD & BD titles on the 12/28 - I'll keep you guys updated on the progress of this shipment. It hasnt reached IL yet. But its making good time!

yunro 12-31-07 04:43 PM

I've sent in a couple of disc shipments the within the last 2 months and they each took about 2 weeks to process, well worth it for what they offer.

moonraker 01-11-08 10:45 AM

Here's another data point, for those of you keeping score:

Mailed my shipment to them on Dec 26 via media mail. Tracking confirmation shows it was delivered on Dec 31. Received my store credit on Jan 11.

Not bad at all. One of the fastest turn around times I've gotten yet, and this was over the holiday period as well.

Keep up the good work, DVD Planet!

Sorry if this has already been covered, but I didn't see tell of it on a skim of the topic.

How does DVDPlanet let you know that your package has been received and processed?

Ok - I had to contact customers service on this. I know UPS doesnt ship to PO Boxes. However in the past I was informed that it was ok to send the items out via this courier to DVDP - and there never was a problem.

Now after running the tracking # -the system has told me that the item has been sitting at UPS because the signer needed to schedule a pick up - 01/03

So I called DVDP on 01.03.08 - The CSA told me that the package was in the building and it would be processed. I just checked the tracking information and it says that it was delivered on 01/10/08 - Whats up with that...

I'll keep on updating

Anyone know what happened to the quote machine? I went to sell some dvds and there was nothing there.

John Sinnott 02-06-08 06:49 AM

That's odd. I hope they haven't stopped taking in used discs. I'm really glad that I mailed in a huge Quote Machine order last week.

riotinmyskull 02-06-08 06:52 AM

from time to time they take it down to update their used disc listings. it'll probably be back within a couple days.

Site says:
The Quote Machine is being taken down
temporarily for a maintenance.
We will be back up and purchasing discs
on February 18, 2008.

jewellrunner 02-06-08 12:18 PM

That thing is down more than it's up. They're probably lowering their trade-in prices again.

Dane Marvin 02-06-08 01:06 PM

Can other people let me know shipping and credit received dates on their recent orders shipped? I sent mine in 1/11 ($272 order) and haven't gotten any credit yet.

Sparrow 02-06-08 08:25 PM

Last shipment received by DVDPlanet on 1/3; Credit received on 1/27 after an email requesting an update. Slightly over 3 weeks.

Jericho 02-07-08 01:54 PM

I shipped out a very small order on 1/9. Not sure exactly when they received it w/o my info in front on me. Probably on 11/11 or 11/12. Got my credit on 2/1.

John Sinnott 02-08-08 07:36 AM

I shipped out on 1/11 and I still don't have credit. :(

Likewise.

Used disc inventory is back online but quote machine remains down.

John Sinnott 02-10-08 02:29 PM

Wow! Just checked their used HDM inventories. There are 26 used Blu-rays for sale (not titles, but total copies) and hundreds of HD DVDs. I'm guessing when the Quote Machine is back up the prices for HD DVDs will be significantly lower.

I ahve a quick question for those that have shipped "large" amounts of DVDs. Do you ship out your DVDs in multiple shipments or get a big box and ship them all out. Once the Quote Machince comes back on I have an order that I want to ship out, but the order consists of about 40 or so movies some of which have large boxes....THank you for any suggestions you can give me. :)

I've sent that many out before without a problem.

Sparrow 02-11-08 10:31 AM

I've packaged and shipped very large used quotes in a single box and haven't had an issue. I always place insurance and ship Priority Mail in those cases.
