Amazon Refund or Replacement

OK so I got a book in the mail today from amazon. The corners were really bent up, so I called Amazon for a replacement. Talked to a nice guy and one is coming over night. Now for my problem. He told me I needed to print a return label. No problem, easy enough or so I thought. One of the questions is do you want a replacement or refund? What do I select since one is already on its way? I was thinking replacement, but then I thought maybe not. Since they might be stupid enough to send me yet ANOTHER book. So what do I do?

Since you are getting a replacement I would just pick that as the reason for the return. If they do happen to send another book you can always send it back by refusing delivery as long as you do not open it.

I think if they send a replacement before they receive a defective copy back, they just charge you again and then when they receive the defective copy then they will issue a refund for that. Since they have already sent another book I would mark refund. I think they would look it up on the computer so you could leave it blank.

I just had to do this. Email support told me a replacement was on the way and that I should print out a packing slip. I selected "replacement" and apparently that generates another email to customer service, because they wrote me to say that I already had a replacement order in.

So, in short, just pick replacement. They'll catch it.

I do get 30 days from the time I made the request for a replacement to ship the book back before my credit card gets charged again. So thats atleast good ernestrp.

Tracer Bullet- Thanks for the information. I am surprised they did catch it. Then again maybe the people who deal with replacement/refund are better educated then those who pack the boxes.
