Do websites honor pre-order prices if the price changes?
I noticed a possible pricing mistake on Amazon.com for a certain complete tv series set coming out in a few months. And compared to the prices listed on other websites. Amazon lists a lower full retail price, and lower pre-order sale price. It is probably a mistake. And I was wondering,if I placed an order and the price was corrected/changed. Would they still honor the price I originally ordered it for?
I'll let you know what the dvd set is,after I get some feedback, and if I place an order or not.

Depends. I got the "Viva Pedro" set for nearly $60 off the correct price, but by the same token they cancelled the $5.99 Evangelion boxset orders. I'd say give it a shot.

I would order it anyway. If they cannot honor that price, they normally send an e-mail stating the corrected price and if you'd like to keep or cancel your order.

It probably depends on how big of a price discrepancy is involved and how many orders are placed. They look at the totals involved and decide if they're willing to eat the loss; but Amazon is profitable so it's possible it'll go through. Go ahead and order because at worst they'll cancel and notify you.

I tried to apply for the Amazon Visa card to get an additional $30 off. But it wasn't approved yet. So I'm going to wait and see if it gets approved, since I do have great credit history. And this will be a killer deal if it works.
The title was already mentioned. It is the Queer as Folk Complete Series 28 dvd(according to some sites) set coming out on November 20th. Amazon lists it for sale at $144 with $206 full retail price. Meanwhile dvdempire for example lists it $198 sale, $250 retail.
If I'm approved for the Visa, the price will be $114! But even $144 is a good price I think. So we'll see what happens. I hope I am able to get it for either of those prices. If not, then I will skip it and just wait until I can afford it.
I was just thinking recently about when or if a complete series set would be released. Since I don't have Showtime anymore and don't own any of the sets yet. Since they were too high priced originally. The current prices for seasons 1-3 are great, but I never got around to picking them up yet. Meanwhile seasons 4 and 5 are still very high priced.
I'm not a big tv on dvd fan for a variety of reasons. But there are three shows that are must buys for myself, when I can afford them. And they are Queer as Folk, Tales from the Crypt and The Twilight Zone. I don't own any of them yet. But the moment I can find some killer deals on them. I'll snatch them up. And decent complete sets are a good start provided that the packaging is good. So i'm not too upset I missed the TZ set since it was too high priced for myself. And the questionable packing of the dvds kept me away from it.

"Queer as Folk" is such a terrific show, and Gale Harold is one of my favorite actors. I haven't heard of any NEW extras yet, but it would surely be tempting if there's anything good, even though I already own the season sets. Fingers crossed you get it for that price, Julie.

Price was corrected and my preorder price went up as well. So I canceled it for now. If I get approved for the card. I could still get it for $144 at least, unless the sale prices raises even more.

It's only $144.15 at FamilyVideo, with 99¢ shipping.
They're showing the release date as 10/9, instead of 11/20.
I ordered it from Amazon; they haven't changed the price on my order.
