Re: I think I got gypped by ashfaultsclassicmovies.com
A relative of mine has been ordering from them for the past couple of years. He often is frustrated with their slowness of filling orders and the poor communication, not to mention saying they have a film when they don't. It seems like they never bother to check for year, stars, etc. They get the film wrong. Another thing is there is NO address or phone number for contact! They take money for films they don't deliver. The name may be changed and the company may be under new management, but nobody knows WHO is running the shop or how to get in touch with them.

I know it is not a scam, I have always received my movies. One time I received one smashed by the post office and they shipped me a new one with no extra cost. They used to be slow, but they did deliver. Now they seem much faster.

Same thing happened to me about a year and a half ago. I believe they changed their name to "Loving the Classics", also based in Ohio. Someone I know ordered a title and, again, it was "backordered". I can't be sure, but it sounds like the same company with a "new look" and the same old tactics.
Now i'm posting away all over the place.

Re: I think I got gypped by ashfaultsclassicmovies.com
but in reality I do know my experience has been an okay one. Now that its "under new management" the Alan Ladd movies I bought 2 weeks ago arrived already.
They do take google checkout so I feel protected going through that. (not to mention credit card disputes if i don't get a movie)

I would stay far away from this company.
CaseyLupus is a shill for this company. Probably a family member of those who run it or maybe even the person who runs it.

Haven't you taken enough people for a ride?
A thousand lashes await you at the hands of Tanya Roberts one day in the pits of hell!

Re: I think I got gypped by ashfaultsclassicmovies.com
The most recent owner/proprietor goes by the name "Heather"/"Heather C.".
My relative even once called the number and spoke with her. The number has since become inactive. I checked this place out with the BBB of Ohio and had my relative email their offices. However, one of the two offices who responded said that they need contact information: address, phone number, in order to investigate the business. (BTW: BBB is still calling it Ashfault's Classic Movies, though it has changed its name to "Loving the Classics".) The problem is that I cannot find any valid contact info. Of six addresses, three of these are Post Offices and two are UPS stores. "Heather" did find the correct old film my relative wanted in one case over a year ago, and even replaced it for free when told that the DVD had problems playing. But lately it has frustrated my relative to no end trying to contact her for the film recently purchased which never arrived and another which arrived with the right cover but the wrong film inside. They simply crawled under a rock somewhere (like most snakes when the sun shines) and have refused to come forward, even to have the courtesy of responding to the poor man's email pleas. If ANYONE out there knows these people PERSONALLY, PLEASE tell them to get on the ball and treat their clients better, and please give out some REAL contact information beyond an email address. How immature can you get? If I ran a business like they did, I'd be bankrupt! or in jail!
