Does Deep Discount Alter Orders If You Ask?

I just placed an order, and like an idiot I never checked it over. I accidentally ordered 2 copies of one titles. Then, I look and I ordered Toxie's Triple Terror Vol. 3 instead of Vol. 2! So I e-mailed them about these two issues, but I doubt their e-mail responses during the sale.

My question is, if I phone them, will they be able to alter my order, or am I stuck with it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I hate this type of answer on these boards. What do you think the purpose of a discussion board is, anyway?

OP, I've called DDD before and they've helped me out, as long as it hasn't shipped yet. But be forewarned, they ship pretty quick sometimes.

I found CS at DDD to be very helpful (when calling) in the past, so if you can get a hold of them before it ships, I'm sure they will help you.

I emphasize "when calling" because I've waited for over a week and a half for a price match and heard nothing. Now the competitors price is back up, so I'm sure I'll hear from them soon. Their price matching is laughable. Sorry for swaying off-topic.

Just because you hate it doesn't mean it is wrong...You called didn't you..

One reason it is wrong is that it does not provide an answer for the next guy who is wondering about the same question and decides to do a search on it.

You call, what's the worst that happens, they say no? Then you have your answer. Don't bemoan an obvious answer because you want "discussion."

I just had a similar situation arise at DDD. I mistakenly double-ordered the same dvd/cd twice...and although I sent a "cancel this order" immediately on 6/16/07 when I called them on Monday 6/18/07 both orders were already processed!! (No email confirmed such). They told me to "refuse delivery" on one of the packages and they would debit my account when they received the "refused" package. My question is this...HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE THEM TO CREDIT MY ACCOUNT? Has anyone else had to re-ship to them and have they honored the debit/credit process?

No, you don't. You made a non-helpful, smarmy posting outside of the accepted conduct for this forum and you got called on it. It wasn't advice, and you know it.

I find trying to make a decision between "should I call them ASAP" or "should I ask a bunch of complete strangers, who might take a while to get back to me and still end up giving me bad advice" a pretty silly decision to make.

What's the harm in calling, even if it never helped anybody else? You can always discuss it later.

DD usually has the best prices on DVDs and I don't mind waiting a few days to get free shipping. However, any time I've had a problem, the customer service has been awful.

One example, my husband ordered "Forbidden Planet" based on DD's listing that it came with some sort of book. When it arrived, it didn't have this book. He notified customer service and followed their instructions to return it, but they claimed it never arrived. He eventually got refunded, but it took a lot of calls and e-mails.

Fortunately, in several years of ordering from DD, we've only had about three problems with orders.

Bottom line: be persistent and you'll probably eventually get satisfaction.

Final note: A couple of times I ordered my husband a DVD that he already had. Once, we just took it to Best Buy and traded it in on something else. The other time, he gave it to a friend of his. It just wasn't worth the hassle to try to return it to DD.
