Dear (deleted),

My name is Nick H. and I have been working with our business team
regarding the lingering issue surrounding the charging error for the
54 orders that were placed on December 23rd. Unfortunately, I was
unable to reach you via phone, thus I am sending you this e-mail.

As you requested in our phone conversation January 28th, 2006, we
have given you some extra time to ensure that all these orders with
the exception of 1 order) are returned to us. We extended the return
timeframe an additional 10 days.

As of today we do not have record that the items were received by our
fulfillment center.

As stated in our previous e-mail, you have until February 12th
(previous deadline was February 2nd) to ensure that the items are
received at our fulfillment center. I sincerely hope that you have
already returned these items to us.

We will charge your credit card for any these outstanding order's
that have not been processed by our returns center by February 12,
2007.

The amount that will be charged to your account for each item is the
same price that was listed on the product detail page on our web site
at the time you placed your orders.

As for a quick reference, here are the affected order numbers:

(deleted)

Again, you have been advised on a number of occasions that you need
to return these items or you will be charged for the full selling
price of each DVD listed at the time the orders were placed.

You may view the contents of each of the above orders and the selling
price listed at the time the order was placed at any time via "Your
Account".

Thank you for your cooperation.

Best regards,

Nickolas

So apparently they will be charging my credit card (I've never even had a credit card) the amount of EACH item, not even giving me the B1G1 offer. FYI, the dvds are still right next to me.

Dammit, I just checked my credit card statement online and what do I see? A big fat charge from Amazon.com. Those bastards charged me!

I can't believe they had the nerve to charge me for the unreturned DVDs. What's worse is they charged me more than the amount they should have.

I am so pissed off right now. I can't believe they would go ahead and charge my credit card.

Edit: Oh wait, I forgot. I ordered some stuff from them yesterday.

Nevermind.

This might be a good time to get an Amazon Visa card. With triple points on Amazon purchases you'll earn a $25 GC quickly with 54 orders.

xNightfallx -- Have you added up the amount you would expect to be charged if they did give you the B1G1? I'm just curious...

xNightfallx cannot answer you. He has changed his identity in hopes of eluding his Amazon pursuers. You can now find him under the handle "Miguel Sanchez."

Oddly enough, it comes out to about $1,600. Funny, in an email sent to me a while ago it said I would be charged around $1,600 for these purcheses if they weren't returned. That means they're giving me the B1G1 discount. A person I spoke to there said I could keep ONE of my orders because according to their terms and conditions for this promotion, "...applies only when all qualifying and benefit products in the promotion are purchased in one order." I told them that meant both items had to be together, they spun it as I could only use the promotion one time.

But it seems now that I am able to use the promotion multiple times, so my orders should all be fine. I mean, if they still allow me to use the promotion, I should be allowed to keep them all instead of the one.

Nope, I didn't get any Dawson's Creek, because that show is crap and I'd never watch it. I got anything on the sale that I would watch. Nothing to sell on ebay, nothing to take back to stores. Just dvds that I would watch.

So did you order pretty much everything except Dawson's Creek? 54 orders is 108 boxsets. I dont remember how many titles were available. Your mailman must have been pissed at you.

So xNightfallx, are you going to keep them and pay $1600, send them back, or fight it some more? Just curious.

Fight some more. They can't charge me for now, as they don't have any of my new account info. If they try to charge my old account it just goes back to them. I'll be fighting this as long as possible, that's for sure.

Well he obviously wasn't too bright in the first place if he placed 50 orders...LOL.

Amazon has stated numerous times they will pay all return shipping costs for these items. If I did have to send them back, you can be sure that I will find the largest....I mean...strongest container I can find. And I will throw on everything to PO offers...shipping insurance, delivery comfrimation....you know...to be safe.

Can't. It will void the label (return shipping cost) that Amazon gave you. Amazon themselves already did delivery confirmation, insurance ect. Atleast thats the answer my PO said when I used a Amazon label for a return several months ago.

Can't say I disagree with you. I probably would not have placed the massive number of orders that you did, but the reality is that Amazon screwed up. They are the internet retailer with one of the most advanced sales and fulfillment systems around. They had several opportunities to avoid the mistake but failed to do so. Tough nuts.

I hope you fight them if only to make them more careful in the future. If you have any lawyer friends, now may be the time to call in a favor. A formal letter from someone they can't intimidate will have an amazing effect on Amazon.

May I ask how old you are?

One would think that someone older than 15 would be able to use simple punctuation, capitalization and be able to spell simple words.

are we seriously nitpicking on punctuation and typos on a message board?

I'm beginning to wonder is xNightfallx is for real or if he's just pulling our collective leg. It seems strange that Amazon would be calling him directly at this point and that last email from Nick H. seems a little "off" to me. Also, were there even 108 different sets available during the promotion?

Care to post a pic of your booty?

Yes, many people over the age of 20 still care about proper grammar. It gives the impression that one is educated. (Is it really that hard to hold down the shift key for the first letter in every sentence?)

I thought it was 54 sets from 27 orders. I'm pretty sure there were 54 sets on sale.
