Amazon Visa Card?

I see a $30 offer of my purchase on Amazon.

Any reason not to take this Visa CC offer? Annual renewal fee? Any fees?

Sounds like an easy $30 off.

Do you need a/another credit card?
Are you applying for a home mortgage, or to a lesser extent, a car loan, in the near future?
Can you manage your credit?
Do you regularly buy stuff at Amazon?

If you're good with credit and the use of this one would replace another card, that doesn't offer good rewards, this might be a good option. I would assume there's no annual fee, but I would also assume the interest rate could vary based on your creditworthiness. I personally wouldn't get it just for 30 bucks off, but if you would use it responsibly, it's probably a good deal.

I limit myself to two credit cards and the Amazon card is my main card, I love it. No annual fee and you only have fees if you take a cash advance, request a balance transfer and of course if you don't pay your bills on time. I don't know about the interest rate as I pay my balance off every month. Dtcarson makes some good points as well, is it really worth possibly messing up your credit for $30.00.

The only issue is that they automatically send you a $25.00 GC in the mail when you accumulate enough points. The one good thing about the Buy.com card (I dumped that one for Amazon) is that I could choose any dollar amount of GC and have it delivered via email anytime I wanted as long as I had the points.

Do you regularly buy stuff at Amazon? Once every two months?

Trying to take $30 off a new iPod...might be worth it, might not.

If it's that infrequent I wouldn't recommend picking one up. Sure it's $30 but going through the hassle of getting another card, tracking it and [most likely] eventually dumping it will probably waste more than $30 of your time. The main benefit of a store card like this is for the points generated by those who shop there.
