BarterBee.com??

Anyone had any experience with BarterBee.com? MyPoints is doing a special points offer for signing up with them, but I know better than to jump headlong into anything related to dvd swapping before checking with you guys!

My thanks in advance for your input!

That's funny, I got the same promotion from My Points today. I looked into their site very thoroughly (which took a while because it was running VERY slowly, probably from the increased My Points traffic), and decided to pass. They advocate mailing just discs and inserts to keep costs down, rationalizing that once you "sell" an item, you'll have an empty case to put he new one in. It took a long time to dig that information out, and the only reason I was looking for it was that they kept stating "most items cost less than 75 cents to ship!". They're also selling overpriced mailers with their logos on them. Other than that, it looks like a pretty decent system, and the site design seems good.

iv'e been with barterbee for about 4 months and so far I like it!! iv'e made about 113 sends and requested about 149 dvds.

the cost is a $1 per trade and if you do buy the barterbee envelopes they are about 75 cents each and are insured for any damage/lost dvds....I pay the extra $ because Iv'e had a few come up lost or damaged and feel its worth the extra $ imo....you can always just send a dvd/cd/game in the cheaper envelopes you get at costco but if they are damaged or get lost then ur S.O.L.

you set the point count of what you think ur dvd/cd/game is worth...every month you get 5 free points if you sell 5 titles or buy 5 titles in that month...thats 10 points total.

don't expect getting mint condition dvds cuz most the time that is rare..but most the time if it states its like new then Iv'e found that it close to that.

iv'e dumped a lot of dvds and so far had good luck with barterbee...ymmv

Seems like something worth checking into a little further.

I used them for a little while and really enjoyed there services. In my opinion they are better than Peerflix because a lot of the times you get more than just the disc. However, my favorite would be switchdiscs.com which is just like barter bee but free. Ofcourse SD has it's share of problems as well.

So I would say go for barterbee, you will probably like it and your first trade is free, so there is no loss, but you may also want to list on Switchdiscs too, because its free all of the time, so you have nothing to lose.

I used it once when I got like 10 free points. I got some out of print Texas Chainsaw Massacre DVD. No case, but the disc, insert, and cover art were all there.
