Bestbuy.com problem
Ok, two parts to this thread. One is a rant that I just had to get off my chest about the horrible packing job that bestbuy.com did and the other is problems with the DVD sets because of this packing.
Last week during Best Buy's sell of the Simpsons DVD sets, I decided to pick up the seasons I didn't have, 3-5. Well the nearest Best Buy for me is about an hour away I had to make the decision on whether I wanted to use up gas to drive all that way, or to pay shipping. Either way it would have ended up around the same price, so I decided just to order it online and save myself the time it would have taken. I ordered last Thursday and this Monday when I came home from work I found my package on the doorstep of my apartment. Now I've ordered a bunch of DVDs from various online sources and I've been generally happy with the packaging...that is, until now. Instead of a box where my DVDs would have been semi-secure, the DVDs were shipped in what I can best desribe as a sack. Before I opened it, I said to myself, "Surely they didn't package DVDs in something other than a normal box." But when I opened up I saw that my DVDs were haphazardly strewn about in a sack that was way too big. Needless to say I was a little less than happy about it. Each one of the seasons had various creases and a few corners mashed in. Luckily though, they aren't that noticable.
There are two things though. My season five set has a broken spindle-hub thing, which after reading bestbuy.com's return policy, I'm hoping I can get credit for at a b&m best buy. The other is my season three set came without the little insert book that has all the episodes listed. Would the b&m best buy be able to help me about getting a booklet or am I S.O.L.??

I never would have opened the individual DVD sets. I would have called Bestbuy and informed them that my purchase arrived damaged and that I wanted a pickup (at their expense) and a new shipment once they received them back.
Now that you've opened them you're going to have a harder time returning them.

Well I guess I overexaggerated in my rant (I was just pissed that they didn't pack them in a box securely). Even though there were a few crinkles, they really aren't that bad. Or at least they don't look so bad that I wanted to not open them and drive an hour just to exchange them for boxes that looked better. I'm not really concerned about that, it's more that one of the hub/spindles is broken and that one disc is at risk to get scratched and that I didn't receive something that was supposed to come with the sets (the booklet). Those two things I couldn't tell from looking at just the outside of the boxes.
Anyway, I guess the lesson that I learned and wanted to share with others is to avoid bestbuy.com at all costs.
