One think I hate about the Reward Zone program..Once in awhile I will get a $10 certificate in the mail, they use to send multiple $5 coupons instead. Well if you try to buy a $9.98 cd or dvd or anything for that matter they will NOT let you use the $10 certificate because the price is under $10, so they make you spend more than the certificate so they can get actually money out of you, that to me is not cool. I have even received $20 coupons in the mail and I tried to buy a $19.99 dvd, one penny under $20 and they say no. It's a good thing they don't charge anymore for this club, I would laugh at them when they asked for the membership fee.

Just buy a soda or a small pack of candy to add on a few bucks, it's probably the cheapest thing in the store at the time to add on to enable you to use the coupon.

I had a bb employee tell me today that I couldn't use a $10 certificate because I was using the 12% off reward zone coupon at the same time, despite buying more than one thing. So I had to argue with her, and then her asshole manager who was too busy checking text messages on his cell phone when I explained it to him, so I had to ask him if he was going to listen to me or if I had to call corporate, at which point he put away his phone and finally listened, and then told the cashier it was fine...then came problem number 2- they wouldn't price match target because "it's half the price - why don't you just go buy it there" to which I said "I'm not at target. I'm here. I like this store, although increasingly less, and I want to buy it here" and they refused, claiming target doesn't have them in stock (this was Rescue me, seasons 1 and 2 - target has them for $20, and it was BS - I went to the target store they supposedly called 5 minutes later, and bought the damn things.) I've pretty much had it with this fucking store...they treat even their best customers like shit.

I don't even use my RZ card anymore...I suppose I've spent $50 or so that I can submit online...

I never paid for my yrs of RZ membership, so I felt no loyalty to go there (still don't) I suppose I'll try and get the new game consoles there later this yr for $25 worth of coupons. I'll take what I can get, but I am loyal to no store.

Monroeville. The worst Best Buy in the City of Pittsburgh.

Conversely, the McKnight Road store has the nicest, most helpful employees I've seen in retail recently.

any idea why you only get 2 chances to print out your reward certificates, you can only use them once, so whats the point other than trying to screw you if your printer doesnt work.

Received my letter and coupon today. Completely insulting. The letter assumes us consumers are idiots and think this new program will make it better, easier, and more convenient. Not only is the $10 (I actually did pay the membership fee a month or two ago) coupon an actually coupon with restrictions, but its not a gift card. So it says I can't use it on tons of stuff, like new releases, and and it says the discount is off regular prices. So the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack, which is a best buy exclusive and on sale, won't work, although I'm sure some employees or stores will let it go. I'm sure mine won't. It's like "ok, I'm insulting your intelligence. So here's a $10 coupon, that can't use on anything in the store. Except those three items over there. Now aren't you happy?" Fuck BB.

Unfortunately, most consumers are math-challenged and will figure $1 per point is better because now they only need 250 points for a $5 certificate. That's got to be better than 15,000 points... right?

you should have brought it back to the BB store and showed that target DID have it in stock!

The Best Buy employees should have called Target as well to verify stock of the item. Who knows when they found out last that the item was out of stock (if they even knew or were guessing for their benefit).

Wow...cause that would have showed them, huh? What was I going to do, walk in, ask for the manager, and go "look, I bought them at target, shove it up your ass!"?

If they gave a fuck about my business in the first place, then they would have given me the price match.

And to clarify, they called, claimed the target employee said they didn't have any. this is, provided they actually called the first time. I asked again for them to call, and the target employee told them this time that he "couldn't leave the register to find out" if they had it, so BB said no again.

The whole "pretending to call" another store and claiming out of stock is the biggest joke in the world. I would say 90% of the time, they are pretending to call the store. I caught a Blockbuster employee pretending to call Circuit City back when Blockbuster had a price match guarantee. He picked up the phone, pushed some random numbers and "pretended to have a conversation"

Lordzeppelin has it EXACTLY right about BB. Most other retailers value their preferred (repeat) customers, but BB hasn't figured this one out yet.

I see the need for a return policy, for example. But you need to know when to make exceptions for your long term customers.

BB just treats everyone as if they were a deadbeat!

Well, Best Buy is back in my good graces, personally. I was going to purchase my new 42" Sony Grand WEGA LCD HDTV from Ultimate Electronics in Maple Grove in about 2 weeks time. That is, until today.

I got a cardboard envelope that read "Open it up. You deserve it". Inside was a yellow card for 10% off any 1 item, PLUS 15,000 RZ points! Now, the TV at UE was $1,500 or roughly $1,595 after tax. At Best Buy it's $1,400, and with the discount, about $1,340 tax included. Moving along. 15,000 RZP's = $5, plus 135,000 RZP's = $45, giving me about $50 in RZ certificates. On top of that, my PayPal card is earning 1.5 CBB, which is $20 on that purchase alone.

So, in all, I'll save $250 off of UE's price, get $50 in RZ certificates, and make $20 from PayPal.

That's really the thing, isn't it? As much as we love to whine about BB, if they have the lowest price or the best deal, we'll go back...

Well, that's the devil customer for you.
What they *want* is the suckers who will go there even if they're not the cheapest price, because "I'm earning points!"

I'm only in the market for an HDTV once in my life, lol. The last 12% off coupon came at an inopportune time, and was incredibly limited. This one, however, will essentially save me $300. I have to do it.

Wrong. When it first came out it was $125 = $5 certificate.

The general manager at my Best Buy lets me PM any price anywhere. I could find the same item at Joescomputers4less.com or Outpost.com, and he'll match the price no matter what. It used to be a big pain to do the PM'ing before he started working there. How far is the place? Do they have it in stock? Do they offer anything with it? What color is it? Are there rebates? Is there a full moon?
