Thank you for writing to us at Amazon.com.

After researching your account, I have found that there was a
technical problem regarding the gift certificate funds on your
account. I apologize for any inconvenience this situation may have
caused.

We have corrected the error and your current gift certificate
balance is $16.68.

You can view your gift certificate balance and redeem new gift
certificates by clicking on "Your Account" in the top right corner
of our web site. Under Payment Settings, click on the option
to "View gift certificate balance" and sign in with your e-mail
address and password. The following page will display the funds
remaining on your gift certificate.

thank goodness, it was about time. technical problem? more like the customer service had no idea what they were doing. seems like such as hassle to do a pre-order...

Is anyone else having problems submitting a refund request?

I get to step two in the process and can't go any further.

The IE status bar indicates there is an error on the page.

I have tried unsuccessfully from several PCs.

I have no trouble submitting or getting the refund, it is the amount that is always screwed up. They tell me one amount, then when I check my credit card statement, it is always less. I finally got someone in customer service to tell me it was a technical problem in the system when you have an order with the A9 discount.

Exactly the problem I've seen. What's worse is that they deduct the TOTAL A9 discount from the refund, even if you only request a refund on a single item from a multi-item order. I've had to contact them after the initial refund to get them to refund the correct amount.

They've done this to me as well so I just emailed them about the five orders they did this on. I just assumed I had received the full amount.

I have had problems contacting Amazon about refund inquiries when I use IE. IF I use Firefox, I have no problem.
