Usually, no, just tell them it was lost. If it happens quite often, though, they might cancel your subscription, as they'll think you're scamming them (keeping the DVDs they send you)

My experience has been that Blockbuster sometimes takes an extremely long time to check in videos they've received. Last year, I returned a video to them in March, I didn't get the email stating it had been checked in until Mid-November.

That's an extreme case, but it's an example of how they operate. It will certainly take more than one disc reported as "Returned but not yet cleared my queue" to get them to come after you.

You can, but I'd guess it might take a little longer for them to process it.

"Use the Report DVD Issues link to let us know about the problem. However, you can still return a DVD in the rental envelope without the white sleeve." Hmm, actually, I guess they can track it by the bar code on the return envelope as well.

I have noticed if I return more than one envelope at a time, one gets checked in at least a couple days before the other. I try to either rotate my returns [so I have one at home, one in transit to me, one in transit from me], or if I have to return two at the same time, I drop them in two different mailboxes.

If one takes too long to get checked in, I'll report it as such, and they'll go ahead and send the new one.

Wondering if/when they'll pass on the postage increase via our membership fees....
