Anybody using Buy.com?

Has anyone been shopping with them lately? I signed up for the Chase Buy.com credit card since they had the $25 off promotion since I hadn't heard any complaints about them in a while. 2 orders later and I have cancelled the card and will no longer shop at Buy.com again. The first order was for 4 books which they broke into 3 shipments which took forever to get to me(free shipping). They ended up sending 1 wrong book, which I had to send back and I am still waiting for the credit(1 month). The second shipment I was billed incorrectly. The system dropped a coupon and a gift certificate I used(they were both on the final order page when I hit submit). I emailed immediately and was told they were both applied. I check my credit card bill online a few days later and of course they were not applied. So I emailed customer service again about the dropped GC, which came back with a generic email explaining how to apply a GC to an order. I wrote again, in more detail this time, telling them that I know how to apply it correctly. I also ask if I am going to be credited on my charge for the GC. I get back the same generic email telling me how to apply a GC to an order. I emailed a third time, a little angry this time, telling them that I will not be doing any more business with them and I will be calling Chase to cancel the card, and a lot more pissing and moaning because they won't do anything to appease a new customer in any way or give a personalized email that answers my questions. I get the same generic email telling me how to apply a GC to my order.

Did I just have bad luck or is no one else using them?

I use them a few times a year. Never had any problems. I had to send one item back(mistake on my part), and they cleared it up fine.

I never had any problems receiving anything. I did kind of annoyed with them recently though. I needed 7 different color ink cartridges for the same printer and they had the best price. The only problem was that their was no consistency to the way the had the cartridges named, listed and organized. It was like a scavenger hunt trying to find all 7 colors.

I bought a digital camera from them for a Christmas gift the only complaint was I had a coupon for 20% off a digital camera and it wouldn't use it with my camera.

I have had a couple of experiences that have prompted me to eschew using them in the future. They had a 3 for 20 DVD special; shipped two of the discs, charged me the full 20 dollars, then cancelled the third DVD and when I asked for a pro-rated refund, got a stock response. Considering the disc that they didn't ship was on their website listed as "In Stock," I was a little upset.

In another case I pre-ordered a set that was supposed to ship in February. It didn't. In about March I finally cancelled the order and went to Best Buy. Come JULY the set I ordered from Buy.com showed up on my doorstep, even though I cancelled the order.

They advertise about having good customer service, but I'm yet to receive it. I used to do a lot of business with them, but they've steadily gone downhill.

I have purchased several thousand dollars worth of products for me and the company I work for and I have never had an issue.

One thing I do have to say, they ship all their technology related items from a distribution point in my home town so it takes 1/2 day to get here. I'm not sure how long it would take in someplace like California.

I have never had an issue with coupons, billing or them sending the wrong material. I use them all the time, it is by far my favorite online store.

I bought my first replaytv from them and it was defective. I sent it back to them and they shipped a new unit within 24 hours of getting it.. I was very impressed with that but that was the only time I think I've ever had a problem with them..but it wasn't really their fault..

A week before X-Mas they put their Friends sets (among others) on sale with a $5 instant rebate. We needed to get my fiancee's mom a copy of season 10 and I needed season 8. When I checked the order cutoffs for free shipping, they could not guarantee delivery before x-mas, and the price with expidited shipping was more than Target had for a sale price for S10.

I ordered S8 for myself since I didn't care about when I got my set.

Long story semi-short, I recieved the set I ordered with free shipping in three days time. I have no problems recommending them again.

I placed an order for a digital camera listed as in stock just before the end of the year. After several days, I checked to see if the camera shipped and noticed that they cancelled the order without any notice. I complained via email. After three days waiting, during which time I decided I didnt even want the lukewarm deal, they got back to me saying that the manufacturer informed them that they had no more stock. I will not do business with a company that doesn't care enough to keep accurate inventory, nor will I do business with a company that cancels orders without notice.

A few days later, I bought a camera from Amazon I liked better and got superior service. They offered me the free Prime trial offer, and I was quite pleased that I could set it up to cancel when the trial was up without cancelling it immediately. The shipment was earlier than anticipated, too. It was like night and day when I compare this good service story with the bad service I got at buy.com.

I've only ever ordered from them two or three times, but no complaints here. Received things in a decent amount of time, e-mailed them once, got a very quick reply and answer to my question. So far so good!
