FYE - Friends Collection rebate problem

Let me throw this one out to the masses for advice.

Ordered the new Friends Collection for my wife a while ago when FYE.com had a couple of specials, (probably Columbus day or something like that) along with a $40 rebate which made the set a great price.

First, the box arrived in mid-November with no packing slip as required for the rebate. Stopped at a FYE B&M about 25 miles from here as I was passing by. The manager actually called the company to determine they would honor the rebate without the packing slip if all else was included. Good deal!

So, back home I went.

The set is a gift for the wife so I went looking for a UPC symbol to delicately cut from the package only to find the damn thing is a part of the hard box. I would actually have to cut or saw a piece of the box out of its bottom.

Suggestions? Or should I trudge back to the B&M for more advice?

I once liked FYE but they really are getting to be a pain in the ass!

If you go back to the store, you can ask them to print up a duplicate price sticker for you. This will have the UPC on it, and will hardly be a bother for them to do. They've done it for me before, and it's worked with no problem.

I have done that as well. Problem may be when I first visited FYE (before I knew about the UPC being a part fo the box) the manager had said they weren't carrying this item. Hopefullly they now do.

Suggestions in case they do not?

I think what he meant was that they weren't currently 'stocking' the item - but that doesn't mean that they don't have the information for it in the system. Even if they won't phsyically have the item on the store shelves, as long as the information for it is in the system, they should still be able to print out an extra ticket for it. Basically anything they they carry via the web, or B&M, will be in their system - as you can return something bought on the web to a B&M store.
