Combining orders with Amazon?

How does combining an order on Amazon.com work? I want to add some headphones (just a cheap pair) to a some DVDs that are on pre-order, but the site won't let me. Does it have to be like medium? Anyone know? Thanks in advance.

I think if you are using some promotional code including goldbox offer on the orders, then you can't combine them. Perhaps, a call to amazon may do the trick for you.

you can't combine orders that ship free via super saver ...you also can't combine either if you're a prime member (not that you'd need to as each order is free)

Also be careful because if you order something and try to combine, sometimes the new order will immediately enter the preparing for shipping phase, and you won't be able to combine and be stuck paying shipping on that new order.

That must be the problem...I was trying to add a $17.99 item (after placing the order) to my existing (free shipping) order for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Batman Begins. Thanks for the info to everyone.

You used to be able to get around that problem by changing your order to paid shipping then combining the orders, and switching back to free shipping. However Amazon fixed the web site to even prevent you from that about a year ago. Either you will have to cancel and place a new order, or call customer service for help.

2 pre-orders (Beavis and Butthead & Charlie Chocolate) currently show a COMBINE SHIPMENT button in my account.

You can combine, but each order must be $25. Then once the order is placed, you can combine, but you can't just pick one cheaper thing and try and add it on to an existing order. Clever, isn't it? You still have to order $25 worth of stuff each time.
