Greetings from Amazon Payments.
Your bank has contacted us regarding some attempts of charges from your credit card via the Amazon system. We have reasons to believe that you changed your registration information or that someone else has unauthorized access to your Amazon account Due to recent activity, including possible unauthorized listings placed on your account, we will require a second confirmation of your identity with us in order to allow us to investigate this matter further. Your account is not suspended, but if in 48 hours after you receive this message your account is not confirmed we reserve the right to suspend your Amazon registration. If you received this notice and you are not the authorized account holder, please be aware that it is in violation of Amazon policy to represent oneself as another Amazon user. Such action may also be in violation of local, national, and/or international law. Amazon is committed to assist law enforcement with any inquires related to attempts to misappropriate personal information with the intent to commit fraud or theft. It looks like a scam. Look at the web addy where it says click here. It is slightly different than the amazon addy. It says https instead of http. I noticed those scam ebay sites start with https instead of http, too. If you are unsure call Amazon or log into your account by manually typing in the amazon website. Don't ever click on those links.

The URLs are completely different. The top one came from the e-mail link, the bottom one is from the onsite log-in page at Amazon.com

Amazon.com will never e-mail or call a customer and ask that they disclose or verify their Amazon.com password, credit card, or banking account number. Such information should only be submitted when completing an order on Amazon.com, registering for Amazon Payments, contacting Amazon.com directly, or when making updates to the Your Account or Seller Account areas.
If you are contacted by, or receive an unsolicited e-mail from an unknown entity, and are asked to confirm or provide your password or personal or banking information, simply disregard the request and report the incident to Amazon.com for investigation.
Buyers and sellers on the third-party sales platform (Auctions, zShops, and Marketplace) should always carefully review order and shipment confirmation e-mails to ensure that they are legitimate and have been sent by Amazon.com. To do this, simply cross-reference confirmation e-mails with the transaction history found within the Seller Account area.
If you receive a suspected fake Amazon.com e-mail, or discover a spoof Amazon.com Web site, please report the incident to Amazon.com by sending the original spoofed e-mail as an attachment or forwarding the e-mail directly to [email protected]. It is a phishing scam. I've gotten them many times as well as a couple of others.
Unfortunately I have my doubts how seriously Amazon persues them as their stop-spoofing address was completely unavailable for a couple of weeks back in March. I don't know how long it takes one to shut down a particular phishing attempt but I've also recently repeatedly reported one particular phishing attempt multiple times over the course of one week that contained all the same header info and URL's. I'm guessing it either takes them sometime to get around shutting one down or that they take their time doing so since that particular one was in operation atleast that week.

That's the first thing that makes me suspicious it's a phising scam. A few times my credit card thought there was some unusual activity with my credit card they contacted me about it and not the store or web site. If in doubt call the company direct and never respond to email links.
