Amazon, Canada?

Does anyone in the US still order from Amazon.ca? How are they lately?

I have ordered from them in the past like 2 or so years ago. I just remember the last order from them was for the Back to the Future set when it came out and it took for ever to get here.

I have been interested in the I Love Lucy seasons 1-5 set that comes out 8/16 and Amazon US does not seem to be listing it. I emailed them 3 or 4 weeks ago about it but nothing yet. At Amazon.ca it comes out to 169.** us dollars even with the expedited shipping. The lowest I have found from a US etailer is around 180.** from Overstock.

I haven't ordered from them since they raised the prices on their HBO sets, but they have some exclusive stuff, and Canada is getting more great DVDs that are only available there, so I will be placing an order soon.

Ordering from any amazon.com store around the globe has been a good experience for me.

I will try them again. Atleast you can cancel quickly if a better deal comes up. I guess the only thing to worry about is bilingual cover.

I haven't ordered anything from them in a while either but my shipment time was very good from what I rmember. As a rule I am extremely impatient when it comes to DVD's so I always pay extra for Next Day Shipping. It does cost more but I have the discs asap and don't ever have to set foot in BB unless I am really, really jonesin' for an immediate fix.

My last order from Amazon.ca was 11 months ago. No problems and it arrived quickly.

My first shipment in a long time was from their last sale this summer: 2 cds and a dvd.
Delivery in less than a week from Canada to Amsterdam!

I got my shipping email for the I love Lucy set today. I do have a question though.

When deciding to purchase from Amazon.CA I checked a currency convertor and at that time it was like 169.** us dollars with shipping charges. Today its 174.** usd. Will I be charged the exchange rate when it was ordered or the higher price of today?

You will be charged the rate that was in effect when your card was charged. Usually the day before it ships.

I pre-ordered a book with a May 7, 2005 release date. It's still showing as "not yet released." Looks like the supply chain in Canada leaves something to be desired.

Anyone from Canada actually ordered from here? I was just wondering how long their free shipping usually takes.

I order from them all the time. It takes about a week to the East (New Brunswick).

I live in New Brunswick also and usually takes about a week or so. I have ordered various items from Amazon.ca and have never been dissapointed.

Well, I take that back. Release date has been moved to August 2006 so maybe it's the author's fault.

About how long does it take to ship usually? It said 24 hours when I placed the order and I've not gotten any shipping confirmation.

I've found them to be slower lately. My last order was placed Dec 27th, with 2 items listed as shipping within 24 hours, and 1 within 2-3 days. Nothing has shipped so far...
