Question about Amazon.com's "Best Value" deals

I pre-ordered Remington Steele and the Mary Tyler Moore Show (season 2) from Amazon several months ago.

Today, I happened to click on the Remington Steele page, and there was a 'Best Value' offer saying that if I ordered Remington Steele and MTM season 2 together, I would get $4 off the regular price.

I had already ordered them months ago, but I went ahead and placed a new order and cancelled the original one.

My question is, is there a webpage that keeps track of these 'Best Value' offers? And would Amazon have credited me the $4 if I had asked, since I had previously ordered those two items together?

They probably would if you provide them the link to check. However, it's so much easier just to cancel the preorder and place a new one.
