Question about Paypal fee in Premier account
Hi,
I have a question about paypal fee in Premier account. I asked this question in another forum but didn't get a satisfactory answer. My question is this, if the seller has a Premier account, is it possible for the seller to bypass any paypal fee if the buyer pay using direct paypal to paypal transfer? Not using credit card or bank transfer. I was told by someone that this is possible.
Can someone knowedgeable with paypal confirm this?
Thanks!

Ok. Thanks for your confirmation. That's what I thought originally, but I encountered a seller who wanted me to do a 'direct transfer' to his Premier account, and not bank transfer or credit card. He said 98% of people don't do 'direct paypal to paypal transfer' and so end up paying extra fee to paypal.

I have a Premier account, and I have recieved some payments that did not charge me the fee. They were primarily payments for online surveys or mystery shops I've done, and it's only been from one or two sources. I'm not sure what the criteria is, maybe that is the 'direct transfer.' I haven't asked PP, because I don't want them to say Oh yeah, you should have paid for that.
I also haven't tried to replicate it, because I don't mind paying a small, reasonable fee for a damn good service.

The only way is to have them send money to a differant paypal account that is not premier or business, the 'free' accounts with limits on how much you can accept. I think it is up to $2000 before you have to switch to a premier. Frankly since existing paypal funds and bank fund transfers are the only time paypal actually makes money, since they do not have to pay credit system fees, I'd let it slide as Paypal is a valuable service to keep around and it is as sustainable a business model as they will have without charging additional fees on everyone.

Oh lord, give me strength.
I know your a newb and if you haven't had any qualms with PP, great. But if you want some interested stories, just search this store thread for paypal and you'll get more than your share of horrible experiences.

Just like for, well, virtually every other retailer or etailer.
I am not a 'newb', either here, or with Paypal. Been with PP longer than I've been here, in fact. Never a problem.
I won't say they're perfect, because like anyone/any company, they do make mistakes. But I haven't experienced any, and like H@mmer says, they provide an excellent service that fills a need for a reasonable cost.
If we did this: "search this store thread for paypal and you'll get more than your share of horrible experiences" for every store we dealt with, then, well, we'd never be able to use any company.

I do not question that some people have had some serious problems with Paypal .... and with their cable company, and with their phone company, and wih their landlords, and with Best Buy, and with Amazon, and with Deep Discount, and with their insurance companies, and with their next door neighbors, and with their credit card companies ..... etc. etc.
That's life - it's not perfect, things go wrong, and what you need is the "strength" to deal with it and the judgement to decide if overall you are comfortable dealing with the company in question.
Like millions of others, I am very comfortable dealing with Paypal.

Never said paypal was perfect, but I guess in todays black and white world of absolutes that must have been what you inferred. I'll go ahead and say it myself that PAYPAL CAN SUCK but it would SUCK more without them. Obviously some peopel are newbies when it comes to the UPSIDE of paypal
