I am tempted to try Amazon Prime for $79 dollars per year with free 2 day shipping and 4 dollars per item overnight shipping but I would like your opinions please before I try it, is it worth it? Thanks!

I would never pay them 79.00 for shipping for a year. I guess if you make alot of orders that are under 25.00 (no free shipping option) or if Amazon is the only place where you will by anything on-line it might be worth it though.

It's certainly fast and for business use $3.99 next day shipping under the program can't be beat. Depends if you order alot of books, dvds and music, as items from their vendors such as beef are not covered, but they may run specials in the future for members.

As others have said, not EVERYTHING is covered, and nothing from vendors.

So if I wanted, say, a big screen TV, are most of the ones on their site from vendors like CC? Which items (besides books) are carried by Amazon proper, and thus eligible for the Prime shipping?

For me its not worth it as even with standard shipping i get stuff in 1 day here in NYC from Amazon.com . For people in more remote areas where it usually takes a week or more to get stuff, it probably is worth it

I don't bother. I use thier free shipping instead. why waste $79 on shipping when that can be used to buy $79 worth of dvds??? me I would rather spend money on dvds then use it for shipping,and i buy alot of dvds a month and use free shipping.
