Reward Zone return question....
Hey all,
Has anyone here bought something with RZ reward coupons from best buy and then ended up returning the item? Did you get store credit back? Did they replace your RZ coupons on the spot? Or do they make you wait for them to be resent again....
Thanks,
Matt

I THINK they are never added for a while following your initial purchase...if you'll note online that recent purchases are always "pending" for a few weeks after you buy an item...I think the system they have set up waits to see if the item is returned first...once it's past the return point, then the points are added to your RZ account.
Of course, they could just be deducted at the time or the return too...I'm not really sure. In any case, there's no way to get double points - or I'm sure we'd know about it by now!

Actually I think he's talking about it from the other direction, when the $5 certificate is used for a purchase and that item is then returned. I haven't tried it but I'm pretty sure you're out of luck w/ getting it back. Atleast I'd be VERY surprised if they give you credit for it.

I think the original poster's asking about purchases using Reward zone coupons, though because he uses the word "points" it's a little confusing.
In any case, it's been my understanding that if you use your Reward Zone coupon on a purchase, it takes the discounted amount off of the price on the receipt, and you can only return it for the discounted price. So you effectively lose your coupons. This is how it used to work, at least, presumably because it would be a hassle to reissue tickets and keep track of expiration dates, etc.

Otherwise, if my certificate is about to expire, can't i just buy something and return it, putting the points back on my account?

If your certificate is about to expire call up best buy and tell them that you lost track of time but would still like to purchase an item using your 5.00 certificate, if your nice about it they will give you an extension..and to answer your other question whoever said too bad was wrong, if the employee did their training on RZ they would know how it worked

Sorry to bump an OLD thread....but I just used $25 in RZ certs on a DVD player, and it sucks and I'm going to return it. Will they just credit my RZ account....seems to be differing opinions

Or you could do an exchange and still have the certs apply.
I just did that today with a $10.99 DVD (with which I had used a $5 cert) and exchanged it for a $9.99 DVD. They gave me $1.08 (the difference) in change for the exchange.

I may do that...but I doubt I want a DVD player from Best Buy....I went cheap and it sucked, so I may just get a Pioneer one. I put a request into the myrewardzone.com website askign what happens when I return something with $25 in RZ certs used. If I lose them, I'll be upset.
