the report a lower price on Amazon.com...how long does it take?

I reported a few lower prices today for the 1st time ever. how long does it usually take for the price to change if they change it? also, how good are they at actually changing the price? the price difference was 18.00 on a dvd burner that is actually cheaper at buy.com so you can see why I'm hoping that amazon changes the price, plus I some some certificates from amazon which would make the deal even better.

if you look here:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...X0DER&v=glance

you can see the Amazon.com = low prices spot. I figured it may be worth a shot. oh well I guess.

Don't count on Amazon changing any prices. Amazon has done this before and they never changed a single price on anything I submitted. There was a previous thread on this topic a while back.

Well, sounds like I totally wasted my time when I also did this for the first time, last week

why do they even offer this if they won't actually change the prices? seems kind of stupid to waste everyones time like that.

Probably mainly a marketing gimmick. People who don't like to shop around much, see that and think "well, I guess they probaby have the best price anyway."

Maybe they occasionally drop something if it gets a ton of reports.

They didn't waste their time, they wasted YOUR time. Nice of you to do research for them.
