Do any stores exchange unopened DVDs/video games without receipt?

Well, I just noticed the other day that I still have an unopened game and a dvd lying from Christmas that I already had. Unfortunately, I don't have a reciept for them, so I was wondering if any stores would allow me to exchange them for something else without the receipt.

Try Borders, they'll usually do DVD's, don't know about games.

If not, wait til after Christmas this year.

Wal-Mart gave me last store credit last week on an unopened dvd , after K-Mart, which is where we suspected this particular gift item had actually been purchased, and which also had it in stock, wouldn't.

Might also help, when you know what stores will accept them, is to consider how they sell because they will only give you credit for their lowest selling price.

WallyMart, at least mine, has the highest retail prices and almost never discounts until they go into $14.99/$9.99/$5.50 type racks and bins.

Try Suncoast, Borders or FYE / Coconuts. They've worked for me for dvd's.

I'm pretty sure Toys "R" Us would accept them. You would just get store credit without a receipt though. Just make sure that the DVD would be something they might carry. I know they barely have any R rated DVDs in their movie section.

I have 2 DVDs that I am sure were bought at Best Buy as they have the best buy stickers on them with price. Is there any chance best buy will issue store credit for them without receipt?

From what I recall, that "no reciept" time ended at Best Buy in late January. You will have to wait until Christmas/next year to do that. But as always - YMMV.

YMMV...if you haven't done 3 receiptless returns in the past year, they may let you do it....depends on the CSR that you get.
