thediscountgarage.com
Hey I was wondering if anyone has seen these guys before I found them at www.thediscountgarage.com and they have stuff pretty cheap, but then I wonder if it's one of those too good to be true deals. Anyone have an idea or think it's safe to order from them??

i'd be very leary of them for a number of reasons, first of which their website is crap, second they list no contact info other than a phone #, their primary payment method is paypal...and their domain info is hidden, plus I can't really see how they can sell any of that stuff so cheap, most people are in business to make money, not lose..if they really wanted to get money they'd ebay...I'd stay far..far away..

They actually are on ebay that's where i saw them first then they said that the same deals can be found on their site and what also was strange is they had 100% feedback with 14 reviews. So I dunno it's a risk I guess.

I think I will order one disc and see what happens. The only weird thing I see is that the website says the 'company' is based in Maryland, and all the eBay auctions say the seller is in Brooklyn, NY.

I was fooling around on their site, checking shipping charges by adding DVD's to the cart then going to checkout.
It appears that once you hit $50 the shipping and handling is free.
I too would like to know more about this site since the prices are excellent (if they are legit region 1's)
I emailed them asking several questions. Will post their answers.

You guys won't believe it I went ahead and bought from them on ebay I got the Wire season 1 for 50 dollars plus I think 5 bucks for shipping but I also got a free dvd (I chose Friday night Lights). So my shipment comes in today and I open it up and what do I find? It was TOTALLY LEGIT. They are Region one copies and still sealed they have a couple of thier stickers on the plastic wrap but they can be taken off easily and once you open them up they are gone. I will post the link to the ebay auction for all to see, incredible deal and would reccomend them. Just in case anyone is skeptical look at my feedback on there I am at 95 comments and 100% feedback so there you have it here is a link to the auction.
*ebay link removed -pilot* ..you've posted the ebay username above..people can search for it..

this almost seems like someone who's gonna rack up the feedback by offering stuff real cheap, get enough feedback, then have some sort of massive sale..get people to pay then disappear..but that's just my opinion...

I need a bit more information before dealing with them. As posted above I emailed them (through ebay) and mine bounced back saying their rmailbox was full.
Doesn't sound like good cs there.

Yea I think the email address linked with their ebay account is wrong, I remembered them emailing me about that, who knows I mean I got lucky here it's possible what the pilot said is true but I will defintely be pleased with this deal. I think you have to use the one on their website maybe.

I posted a few weeks ago that he was coming to my store this past Tuesday to deleiver the movies, and guess what? He never came... We spoke numorous times, but the Saturday before it was still on. He was supposed to call me back with a few prices but he never did. We called again Saturday night, and left a message. We called 2x on Tuesday and again no answer so 2 new messages. Today on Wednesday we called again and left a not too happy message. Still no replies. I'd be uneasy ordering online from this place. Thats why I want to see if Zidane received orders placed on the site.

(He sent something appearing it could have been damaged in shipping so a claim was filed. Two months later UPS rejected it as being the fault of the shipper.)
By the time I woke up my credit card company would not reverse the charge.

I ordered Raise Your Voice on Feb 20 and was waiting, waiting.
Thursday I received an email to please call the 1-800 # to discuss my order.
I called this afternoon, and he asked me to please call back in five minutes, he was going to open his office.
By just giving my name, he already knew what I ordered.
I called back, and he said that he had underestimated demand for that title, and now had several in stock, and was also offering a free item.
I picked one and he said it would be sent this afternoon.
I will keep you posted.
EDIT: Odd. I sent him an email thanking him for keeping me up to date on my order and making good on it, and received an auto email saying I would get a response or call soon.
I came here to post this message, went back to my inbox, and there is a delivery notification failure message there, saying the inbox is over quota.
Strange.
I used to email a friend at his job, and I would always get back an email automatically saying there was some sort of error, then a minute or two later, an email from my friend with the message I had just sent quoted, so I knew he received it.

Everything on this site is paid by Paypal. No weird charges for me.
Just got an email about a half an hour ago.
He told me on the phone if there was anything on the site that I was interested in, let him know and he would drop prices on them.
He sent a link (no you can't have it) to a page where he set up a personalized page that drops prices an additional two dollars.
I told him I'd wait until the first package arrives but at $10.50 that's a great deal.
I called him like 2:30 pm pacific, he said he still had 30 minutes to mail it so it would get out by the weekend.
Will keep you posted.

He sounded as if he was a big guy, possibly African American. Deep voice, and I had to really concentrate to understand everything.
However, he was really, really nice, and did not try to rush me into anything.
He listed several DVD's, and audiobooks on CD I could get for free, and one PS2 game.
When I asked about a couple of others, he said those were not in stock at this time. Except for one he said he was holding for someone sending in a payment, and he could give it to me, and buy more of that title, as they were not due to pay until the 15th.
The link he sent about giving me a discount on other purchases was time stamped just after 11 pm. I just got a few minutes ago another email with a delivery confirmation number, this was time stamped three hours earlier, and not generated from the USPS site.
After he sent me the page with the discounts, I emailed him back thanking him, and telling him I would wait on a second order for now, and again, I got an error message. Still, it looks as if the emails are getting through.
The headers show that the emails are rerouted through an address @sprintpcs.com
Again, will keep you posted.
