Is DVDsoon.com a reliable store?

I'm looking at a bunch of titles in DVDsoon.com it appears they have some good prices. My question is are they a trustworthy site and is it worth my while to sign up for the fidelity Icard they offer which allows for an additional 14% off. Also are all the items they sell Region One, it appears they are a Canadian store?

Thanks

I expect this thread to be moved soon, but in the meantime I've seen a lot of dissatisfaction expressed about DVDSoon. They charge your CC immediately but can take weeks to ship, according to many.

I thought I'd try them and ordered a single catalog title ("Courage Under Fire") because they had a very low price and free shipping. It did eventually come, but it took over a month.

Canada is Region 1. However, some titles are published in Canadian editions with different language options or packaging, and occasionally different content. It's worth noting.

Can't comment on the card thing.

Personally, I have a bad feeling about this company.

I used them for the first time recently for a single dvd purchase, and everything went fine. Took a bit longer than other places, but I expected that.

I would probably use them again.

You need extreme patience to order from them. They are trustworthy just very very slow in shipping. Their new fidelity Icard program is I guess fairly decent if you order a lot (~ Cdn.$50 / yr is quite steep) and don't mind the waiting time. A whole bunch of free shipping + the discount savings might end up saving you more than the membership if you do some calculations. I've been a regular shopper there over the years but did not sign up for the program. One is that I am cutting down the purchases so it's not worthy for me. I also think to pay an annual fee that much, I expect faster services. I don't know however if you get higher priority if you are an Icard member though b/c last time I made an order there it took even longer(one of the items was listed as "packaging" for a whole week!!! ) than it used to before they implemented this program. They are in fact a Canadian store located in Québec.

Is ther anyway to tell if the edition is a Canadian or US edition?

The majority of the times when you get a DVD from Canada, it's the Canadian edition and depending on the studios some covers are identical while most aren't (with the Canadian one being bilingual). One way to tell is to do a search on amazon.ca and often for the same movie they'll have one Canadian edition and one with "(Import)" on the title for the US edition. As far as dvdsoon specifically, they often only have the Canadian edition. Not very often will the DVD content be different though and usually if they are, it would be very easy to find out by going to various sites like this one and ones that do comparsions (ie. dvdcompare.net, dvdbeaver etc...)

i have always recieved my orders in a timely fashion, and customer service has always responded to me and answered all my emails. i will not hesitate to use them since they have many great deals made better by the conversion rate (us to can). i have ordered many times and been satisfied every time.

I've used DVDSoon a number of times I agree that things are slow and I was always confident I'd get what I ordered. I haven't bought from them in a long time so I'm not sure how they have been recently.
