I used to get those all the time! "Sorry but your disc was not...." Ever since they started that service, all have been available locally so no extras.

That makes sense. Thanks!

re: Anyone's Netflix disc delivery service starting to suck?

Our service is great. If I put one out on Monday afternoon, Wednesday afternoon, I get one back.

We started out with Blu-ray, but it didn't seem that the visual improvement was worth the limitations, so we stopped. I can't tell the difference anyway, because I'm a little cross-eyed.

We've been very happy with our subscription. One thing I like is that I can get really weird movies. I got "The Apple". (Why, on earth would you do that? you ask) Because I saw it late one night, and it was so bad, I had to see it again to really pin down how bad it was. The costumes were fun. I like being able to just ask for Arsenic and Old Lace and see is show up shortly. I can't do that at a rental store.

Every time I attempt to perform any action on the Netflix page, I get a message telling me that there is an "unresponsive script". I tried using both Firefox and Safari, with the same results. I had a problem with this a few months back, but it seemed to stop. Now it's back, and quite annoying. Anyone else having this problem? Is there a way to fix this script?

They just gave me a bonus rental for renting Crank 2 Blu-ray without even asking for it. They said some people had trouble playing it. I didnt on my LG combo player.

Has anyone put their account on hold?

If I do so in the beginning of a billing cycle, will it just pick up where I left off when I take the hold off?

For example, I just paid yesterday. If I place a hold on the account for a month, will the cycle pick up right there and I'll still have most of my month left?

You will lose whatever is remaining of your cycle. You will start a new biling cycle when you re-activate.

Isn't that about the same as cancelling and signing up again?

Yes. Except you retain access to the website and won't have to start all over with your queue.

re: Anyone's Netflix disc delivery service starting to suck?

I thought I would mention that it seems like my Netflix service is actually starting to improve a bit. I'm happy that they have started doing some stuff on Saturdays (about time!) and I've noticed that sometimes I'm getting more discs one day quicker than I used to. I'm not very close to a distribution center, so in the past it would take at least 2 days to get there and then another 2 days to reach me. Even 1 day shaved from that turnaround time is nice to see.

Oh. I didn't know your queue cleared out. I believe Blockbuster keeps it.

re: Anyone's Netflix disc delivery service starting to suck?

According to the web site Netflix shipped me my next movie today, Columbus Day, but I thought the USPS wasn't open today. So will I get my movie, WWE Breaking Point release date is tomorrow, tomorrow or Wed.?

funny I was coming here to post the same thing. I think Netflix has always shipped stuff on Holidays (at least the "minor" ones like this, don't recall about Christmas and New Years) and chances are it'll arrive tomorrow just like normal. I don't know if they worked out a special deal w/ the USPS or what... If anyone does know please share.

Same for me. Like nemein said, I'd expect it to arrive tomorrow.

My account said it shipped a disc today (Drag Me To Hell, release date is Tuesday), but the estimate says it won't arrive until Wednesday.

Mine frequently gives a 2 day "lead" time but I usually get it the next day. I'll update tomorrow to see if I actually get them.

Another site I read (didn't bookmark it and I don't recall what it was any more) speculated that while today is a Federal holiday and there is no delivery or curb side pickup the "back office" at the USPS is still running... or possibly late night shift work and what not, so that's why some things (like Netflix) may still happen.

Did yours end up arriving? Mine didn't. I was actually kind of surprised.

re: Anyone's Netflix disc delivery service starting to suck?

Has anyone, especially in the Columbia, MD, area, found that they simply aren't getting their NetFlix releases? I've spoken to the post office and the formally complained through the USPS website but, I'm still only getting one in five DVDs. Seems someone else is getting them and sending each one back in the return envelope. This has been going on for about six weeks and no one with the post office or NetFlix seems able to fix the problem. Is anyone else experiencing this in the area?
