Amazon gold box - dead?

Checking something on Amazon it occured to me that I haven't seen a gold box for several days. Is this promo dead?

I think the gold box is being revamped by Amazon. I received a survey several weeks ago after checking my gold box offers wanting my opinion about it and how they could improve it.

I did one of those several months ago and it didn't seem to change anything. 90% of my offers have still been crappy jewelry and wireless routers.

Maybe they are finally getting aound to changing it. My main complaint was about too many offers for items that are of little to no interests to me. I suggested the offers should be in store areas where you actually make purchases from. I've bought enough things at Amazon they should know what I might buy. I've never made a gold box purchase since it's stuff I don't want. In its current form I wouldn't miss it if Amazon decided to discontinue the gold box. It either needs to be updated or dropped.

I usually check out the goldbox once in a while ..sometimes I see a dvd, but was not interested in it ..they actually had a survey about the gold box I took like a week or two ago, asking what would make it better ..etc ..I suggested they offer more items based on what I wanted, and not shit I wasn't interested in (like hair growth products, blenders, tools or whatever weirdo shit htey were offering..) maybe they're revamping it to offer more products based on each customers past purchase history ..(just hoping here..)

even if the little goldbox isn't in the top right corner, you can still get to it by going to http://www.amazon.com/gp/xs/goldbox/index.html .. I had 5 dvds in the goldbox .. I almost fell out of my chair..other stuff was 4 jewlery items and a tool ..wasn't interested in any of the dvds, but if I see 5 a day that'd be pretty neat..never had 5 before, ever ..maybe 2 max in one day..

All I ever get is jewelry and kitchen stuff. I think I've had a total of 3 DVDs in my Gold Box ever.

I got about 4 different DVD offers last night which was a refreshing change but nothing I wanted. However, still getting a bunch of offers for jewelry and other items of no interests.

dead..for now..

We're sorry. The Amazon.com Goldbox is not currently available.
We are currently working on some improvements to the Gold Box. During this time, the Gold Box feature will not be available on our web site. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Please know we anticipate offering this feature again in 2005.
