Taking away a Gift Certificate from an Amazon order?

Is there a way I can take away a Gift Certificate I used for a backordered DVD and use it for a new order? I went to "change payment" on the order page, but it looks like the only thing I can change is the credit card. (The Gift Certificate is from my Amazon credit card when I got 2500 points.)

You can cancel the backordered DVD and the GC will go back to your account. Now place your new order and that GC will show up as a method of payment. Then place another new order for the backordered DVD.

Of course this assumes the backordered DVD hasn't changed in price. Otherwise, you'll have to call amazon directly and see if they can help you out.
