paypal problems? for ebay?

is anyone else having problems using paypal for an ebay payment?

i keep getting, "We are sorry that we are unable to complete your request at this time. Please click retry or try again later.

Message 3004"

also, a little while ago, i received a message from paypal about some sort of class action settlement. was that legitimate?

i have been getting bogus emails regarding paypal (the ones where they ask you to login) so i ignored it.

I don't know about the SPAM e-mails you have been getting, but Paypal has been down for a few days now, and it is having a huge effect on eBay right now.

Check out the paypal discussion board on eBay (in the Community section) for all the latest updates.

I got that same message when I tried to log on earlier tonight. I clicked "retry" as suggested and it worked. After that, things were OK for me. Maybe they are just having some minor problems.

Woah, I wasn't aware of that. After that one error message, I had no problems with Paypal tonight, so maybe things are fixed now?

I was able to access my Paypal account today without difficulty, and had no problem using my Paypal card for a purchase at a store.

For the first time in a long time, I don't have any current auctions listed - good timing I guess.

I haven't been able to use Paypal in about 2 days now...probably time to take down my auctions, since i'm paypal only.

Sucks though since i'm trying to send a trader here money.

I'll have to check out that message board, thought it was just my computer acting up or something.

Glitch disrupts eBay's PayPal service

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Repairs were underway Monday at PayPal as the widely used online payment service struggled to get customers back on track after several days of "intermittent" outages.

Users of the eBay Inc.-owned company began experiencing some glitches on Friday after a monthly upgrade of PayPal's software systems, said eBay spokeswoman Amanda Pires. The problems seemed to subside over the weekend but then recurred Monday, she said.

It is unclear how many of PayPal users were affected. Pires said some users were able to access PayPal while others were not.

PayPal is a common method of payment for buyers on eBay and is gaining in popularity among customers of other online retailers as well as in money transactions between individuals in the off-line world.

The payment service has more than 50 million user accounts worldwide. It processed almost 78 million transactions worth $4.4 billion in payments during the second quarter, a 53 percent increase from the same period a year earlier.

Pires could not estimate when the service would return to normal. "We're working to get it fixed as soon as possible," she said.

Yesterday after lots of attempts through out the day I was able to sign in and transferred my $ to my bank account. Today I have had no luck signing in and I have a buyer claiming he said a $120 payment but their is no way to confirm because I am not getting the emails from paypal and cant sign in. This is very frustrating!

I sell on ebay and print postage/shipping labels through paypal and this glitch is really slowing me down. It took me about 10 minutes to print one label.

I hope they fix it soon.

Appears to be back up as I just was able to pay on the couple of auctions I won over the weekend.

No kiddin'. I'm a vendor, and have, like, fifteen things to ship today. But I'm not going to spend ten minutes per label.

If it's not fixed in the next couple hours, I'm going to have to print everything out as usps.com, which I really don't like to do (since it'll complicate how I keep track of shipments).

Frustrating ... very frustrating.

Yes, this is not bogus. Among other things, PayPal has agreed to "free up" your money after 180 days if they restrict your account. Also, users can get $50 or more if they show that PayPal's previous tactics have cost them money.
