Borders Gift Card problem at Amazon.com

Anyone else having problems adding a Borders Gift Card to their account/order? I've confirmed the card carries a balance by calling the 1-800 number, but I can't check the balance or apply the balance to any of my orders. WTF!?

So can border's gift cards be used on anything at Amazon.com? Can you stack gift cards?

I'm trying to decide how to spend my Discover Card cashback ....

You can't stack them. I found out what I was doing wrong. When you add an item to your shopping cart, make sure you're starting from Borders.com. That way, under the item description, it will say something like "Sold by Borders through Amazon." If you did it wrong, when you enter the gift card number, it'll tell you you can only the gift cards for items bought from Borders. But I think every book Amazon sells, Borders sells, too. It's just a matter of adding it to the cart the right way.

You can even use STL (Share The Love) on your borders.com order. Here's a how-to that someone on dvdtalk.com posted:

1) Log into your Amazon Account and delete everything from the shopping cart including saved items.
2) Go to http://www.borders.com
3) Borders.com will redirect to their Amazon storefront. Once there click the "Your Account" button.
4) Scroll down to "Shopping Lists & Gift Registries" and click "Share the Love"
5) Add Share The Love items to your cart
6) After last item added to cart click the Blue "Proceed to Checkout" button near the bottom of the cart
7) Enter Giftcard number and complete transaction. It will give a message that your GC will not be debited until your order ships.

* Only one Borders Gift Card may be redeemed per online transaction. *

Has been able to use a Borders gc for a dvd lately? Whenever I add the dvd in my cart it goes to the Amazon shopping cart and won't accept the Borders gc #.

All this time, just got an order 2 days ago that used a Borders card.

Did you start at www.borders.com and go from there?

I use my Borders cards on Amazon all the time. You have to make sure you enter through the Borders website. I have even used my Borders gift cards for the Gold Box offers

OK, thanks all. For some reason it wasn't accepted when I ordered with the free shipping (over $25) but it did go through with a single dvd order. At least it said the gc would be applied when the item shipped - it did not show anywhere on the completed checkout page.
