Does Wal-Mart Price Match??
Hello,
I was wondering what Wal-Mart's policy is on price matching.
We have a local Circuit City but then don't normally get new released until Wed or Thurs. Circuit City's advertised prices are normally 5-10 bucks cheaper then Wal-Marts, but Wal-Mart always has there stuff out on Tuesday.
Thanks

Wal-Mart's official company policy states that customers do NOT have to have the ads present to price match. CSM's are supposed to have all of the ads at their stores and be informing their cashiers what is a qualifying item to price match.
As stated above, Wal-Mart will not match: percentage off sales, sales that require a purchase to get a special price (example: Buy DVD A and B and get $5 off the total price, or Buy DVD A and get DVD B for X.XX), they will also not double or triple coupons as some stores do and they do not price match online prices from places like Amazon.
If you take an ad into a Wal-Mart store that is reasonably within a competition area of a Best Buy or CircuitCity or whatever store you are going to price match and you are denied the price match, you should call 1-800-WAL-MART and choose the option to leave feedback about a store. Have the store number handy and the information will be passed on to the store manager who will be REQUIRED to contact you regarding the situation.

Both of the super Wallys in my town sometimes will automatically lower prices for such deals. Just pick up "The Patriot" for 6.58. It was advertised as part of BB 3 for $20. The really sweet parts are 1) I don't want to shop at BB 2) I did not have to buy any other movie to get The Patriot so cheap, which rocks because I did not want anything offered in the BB 3 for 20 deal. I know YMMV, but its worth looking at wallys.

Wal-Mart won't price match unless the "competitor" is within a certain distance of the store. I'm not sure what it is, but a Wal-Mart near me won't price match from a Best Buy ad when the nearest Best Buy is in another city about fifteen minutes away.
Oftentimes, their prices will be competitive anyway.
For example, they were selling things like "Kill Bill v2" and "Butterfly Effect" for the first three weeks of release for something like $15.87, even though they're fifteen miles away from Best Buy, Circuit City, or Target.
They were selling "Passion of the Christ" for about twenty bucks, though. They probably figure a lot of people are going to buy it anyway, so they might as well not give too much of a bargain.
I think it's up to the individual stores to set their prices, though, so YMMV.

I got "The Two Towers" at a Wal-Mart last year for something like $14 and change with no price-matching.
