Looks like free shipping at BB is over...

I'm surprised they would drop free shipping, considering their competitors all offer some form of free shipping. They must expect everybody to do store pickup, but why bother ordering online then?

I basically did online shopping at BestBuy for those 3 for $20 sales, because I gave up expecting to find the three I wanted in stock at the store - guess my shopping days there are over.

Hope this doesn't mean that DDD will no longer PM BB's sale prices...

2) If you don't have time to swing by the store while the sale is going on, you can pick them up at your convenience.
3) So you don't have to get up early Sunday morning and skip church to run to Best Buy before the best sale-priced DVDs are gone.

I wish more stores did in store pickup. Circuit City does it, but not for DVD's. I'd love to be able to pick up DDD orders at the DVDPlanet B&M (DDD owns DVD Planet)
I would use BestBuy.com more often, but you don't get Reward Zone points for online purchases, making it a waste.

I remember when BB first did free shipping about 2 years ago, they briefly discontinued free shipping. Then they reinstated it (probably cuz their sales were slipping). That said, they might reinstate it again if their sales figures suck.

By the way, I think BB is charging s/h right now because of a $15 off $100 order email they are sending out. That dies on Aug. 20th so hopefully they will do free s/h again after that. I just placed an order using the $15 off $100 order and it only saved about $4 off DDD prices but I figured ordering from BB it would get here quicker (nearest BB is 3 hours away) plus I got my Kill Bill box.

FWIW, don't get too mad at the vendor for charging sales tax. If they have B&M in your state, they have to collect state sales tax. Technically for most states you're supposed to pay sales tax on non-taxed online purchases as well [I know NC had something on their 2003 tax forms for that]. Just remember that on election day. Shipping, of course, is another issue. Depending on what is being shipped, it's so cheap to ship many things, it seems like when there are shipping charges, they're ridiculous [I just shipped about 10 DVDs/Games today, in one box, for just over three bucks.]
And yes, non-free shipping, sales tax, *and* I can't get RZ points....why order from BB.com?

Eh, I stopped getting stuff shipped long time ago. They always messed up orders, didn't mail em' when they said they did, or out right canceled my order. It's store pick up if anything at all. Of course I don't care much for the service at BB. CC is much nicer.

I mentioned something about this in another thread - here in NC you can either keep track of your out-of-state purchases, or estimate the "consumer use tax" you owe by .065% of your AGI. If you keep track of actual tax you get charged on out-of-state orders, you can deduct it directly from this CU tax, even if you estimate the CU tax.

Haven't been told this is not allowed, but since you technically pay on-line for the item, you likely can't use the Reward Zone card at the store. They are just delivering the item to you at the B&M. But that's my guess, not confirmed. Since I have a RZ card and it WAS free shipping, I would only do bb.com when they had an excellent exclusive on-line deal (which was rare). . . with shipping costs added in, makes no sense to order on line and ship, or pick up in store since you don't get the RZ points.
