Uh oh... Overstock screwed up my Return?

Ok, so a loooooong time ago (7/23/2003) I ordered a couple of Criterion titles from Overstock.com. One of them was The Rock, which turned out to be a bad disc. So I called them up and had it returned. I forget if they gave me in-store credit or refunded my credit card. I just went searching through my bills and can't even find the original purchase. The price that I had paid for The Rock at the time was $28.79.

Anyway, so the return went through fine and it shows on my account that the return went ok. That was the last time I had ordered anything from them until the other night. I was cruising DVDPriceSearch.com and saw that Overstock had Under the Tuscan Sun for $9.99. So I ordered it and figured it would be $9.99 + $1.40 shipping. But there was a mysterious "discount" on my order for $2.88. I have no idea where it came from. Then I was browsing my old purchases and saw the return for the Rock for $28.79..... which happens to be one decimal place off from $2.88.

So what I'm wondering is if some bonehead gave me in-store credit for the wrong amount or is this just a coincidence? I put an email into Overstock, but I don't expect a response til next week. Do they normally give in-store credit or refund your card?

Ok, so I suddenly had the bright idea to call them. Turns out it WAS just a coincidence. My credit card had been refunded. The $2.88 was from some coupon. When I asked about where the coupon came from, cuz it came out of the blue for me, the cs rep went to have someone explain it to her and she came back with some strange explanation, I didn't get it all quite straight, but she said as a courtesy they would add a $2.88 credit to my account.

Actually, I've never seen it before. But I am a huge fan of Diane Lane. And I'm sure I'll enjoy it.
