Fry's Electronics In Plano, Texas Opens

This is not in Hot Deals because even though they opened yesterday, a saleman told me that the grand opening with all the great deals won't be until like mid-January!

I went in there yesterday, and I noticed they had signs up saying they were closing at 6pm. They must not be fully ready to go if they're not running regular hours yet.

And everyone was awfully polite to be working at a Fry's.

I had a friend who just quit Ultimate a few months ago and I can tell you that it sucks in many ways that can't be seen on the surface. You also can't buy the parts to build a computer there.

Grand opening should be in the next few weeks. What kinds of deals does Fry's usually have for grand opening, specifically in computer parts?

Fry's was one of my National Accounts when I worked for a publishing company and I attended the Grand Openings in Houston and Austin. These things are HUGE. I can't tell you specificaly what will be available at what price, but I can tell you that folks will be lined up outside that store and will race in the minute the doors open. They will fill their carts with software, books, movies and computer hardware at prices that you cannot even begin to imagine.

So get there early and be prepared to run all over the place.

You do not have to the new store for the grand opening prices. All of the Fry's in the Dallas area should also the grand opening prices.

Long drive for you. It's in the Greenspoint area. Check the Chronicle on Thursdays and Fridays for their ad. In many cases, it's worth a drive. I have heard that they have broken ground on a new one near Sugarland and they've been talking about Clear Lake since the first one opened.
