Just wanted to talk some smack about DVD Planet B&M

The store in Huntington Beach sucks so much now. They haven't gotten a new Criterion in since August. No Devil and Daniel Webster, no Tokyo Story, no Circle Rouge, no Schizopolis. And they've raised the prices on new Criterion titles. They suck.

I used to get all my Criterion's at their B&M store. At first, when the Criterion titles went on sale, it seemed liked it was only going to be a short-term sale, but then they just kept them on sale. I guess all good things must come to an end, however.

They still have 30% off their "Top 25" each week so that's still a pretty good deal.

I don't shop there as much as I used to because they've been having problems getting the newest releases in, but hopefully they can turn things around...if not I don't know what's going to become of them. I had read a rumor a while back that they had bought the now-defunct DVD store on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks (I can't recall the name of it at the moment) and were going to open up a second location there. I don't know what happened with that situation. Anyone reading this know?

And I'm willing to accept that, but they haven't recieved a new Criterion since The Fassbinder films and they still don't have Daniel Webster and they have none of this month's new releases.

The store in the Valley was Dave's Video. And that deal is deader than dead. But don't count them out just yet. If you don't like that one store doesn't have the new releases or prices you expect, just wait until there are two! If one doesn't work, two not working would be even better, right? Go figure...
