DDD's site doesn't provide a way to directly cancel an order. Movie_Man suggestion is your best option.

Allow me to resurrect this post from the dead to better help my own issue. Yesterday, after using dvdpricesearch.com to find the lowest price on LIVE 8, I found that DeepDiscountDVD was the winner, at $32 + change. Then, a short time later, I discovered in the DVD Bargains section of this website that Target will be selling the same title for only $24.99, well below any online price. I want to cancel my order with DDD, and sent an email immediately to that effect just 2-3 hours after placing the original order, but discovered on their website this ridiculous scripting: "Pre-orders may normally be canceled or changed up to 7 business days prior to release date." WTF??? Is this for real? Just the fact that I placed the order within this absurd 7-day window means I'm SOL, right? Has anyone had a situation like this? Is DDD militant about this 7-day thing, or do you think they'll do right by me and allow the order to be canceled?

Pick up the phone. Call them - within a matter of 2-3 hours after placing an order, you probably would not have a problem.

As to the "7-day thing": everyone's always asking if they will have their pre-orders by release date. Guess what - to get them to people by release date, it would necessary to mail them out in advance of the release date, and for their free shipping, that means they would be mailing them out about 7 days in advance. (My recent pre-order for 3rd Rock shipped exactly 7 days ahead of street date, and reached my right on time.) Would you rather they never ship anything out until the actual street date?

I just checked my order and IT'S BEEN CANCELLED!!! Whoo-hoo! Based solely off my e-mail! This, combined with DDD's quick, friendly efficiency in always sending a duplicate title if the original shipment fails to reach me, makes them THE online retailer above all others, IMO. I almost wish I'd kept the order active--they certainly deserve my business--but at the same time, $7 + change isn't chump change in my financial bracket...

Fair enough...I honestly hadn't thought of that...they should make that reasoning more clear on the website so it doesn't look like they're just trying to sucker-punch you into having to keep orders you don't want.

I'm glad you've had good luck with them. They have yet to reply to any emails I've sent them. I like their prices and their prompt delivery, but in my experience their customer service sucks when it comes to anything beyond the simplistic. I had good luck with them too (over a dozen orders with them this year), until recently when I tried to resolve a couple issues. Their web site continues to be inaccurate in displaying my order statuses despite two calls and my emails continue to be ignored. I let them know in the last one that I'd be holding off on ordering from them until I got a reply. I refuse to do business with a company that ignores my earnest communication.
