A GOOD experience with DeepDiscountDVD.com

Since there have been a few negative threads about DDD lately (including one by me, I'll admit, about the slowness of their e-mail replies), I think it's only fair to also share a positive experience.

1) I ordered The Omen Collection for $34 (price-matched from another online retailer). A week later, DDD dropped their price to $25. I e-mailed them to credit me the difference, fully expecting them not to. Well, they were a bit slow in getting back to me, but they credited me without a problem (which is ultimately all that matters).

2) I ordered The Super Mario Bros. Super Show: Mario's Greatest Movie Moments (the cartoon, NOT the live action movie with Bob Hoskins). It was on backorder, which I knew when I placed the order. A week or so later, I got an e-mail stating that it had shipped. Less than a week after that, I had it in my hands. Needless to say, I'm extremely pleased.

If you do a quick price search on this site for "Mario's Greatest Moments," you'll see that the DVD seems to be nearly impossible to find now - and if you add it to your cart at DDD, you'll see that it's still listed as not being in stock. Therefore, DDD obviously special ordered it for me. Very nice!

DDD may be going through some growing pains at the moment (slow e-mail responses, etc.), but judging from how they have handled my last two orders, I can safely call myself a satisfied customer. I think it's a bit premature to send them to the grave just yet. They have provided us all with great service for years, and if my recent experiences with them are any indication, they obviously have every intention of continuing to provide the same great service for many more years to come.
