BestBuy/Target: Return to any store?

Bought stuff at Target and Best Buy and was wondering if I could return them to any Target and BB B&M store in the U.S.?

Stuff bought at Target can be returned to any Target within 90 days. Stuff bought at BestBuy can be returned to any BestBuy. I don't know how the tax work if the tax rates are different between the purchase/return stores.

They simply adjust it in the computer. This happened to me once before with a BB return - I bought a disc at one store and returned it at another with a different tax rate.

When they entered the return, the amount they were going to credit me didn't match the amount listed on the receipt. The manager came over and showed the CSR how to manually adjust the tax rate for items bought at a different store if they charge a different tax rate.

I'm curious as to why you would think you couldn't return items bought as these stores to other stores in the same chain?

If you are asking about .com orders, I believe you can return those items to a B&M also.

What stores are in your area that do not allow you to return items to another in the same chain?

Unless he means without a receipt, which in case YMMV.

DVDs at my area Target stores always have target stickers on them with the 90 day policy on them.

If you are returning them to Target (now) you have to have a receipt (or if you purchased them on a credit card/debit card/gift card/check, they can look them up that way) otherwise there's a huge hassle about the return policy.

I worked at the guest service counter for 4 months at Target recently in KY, but I think this policy is being adopted nationwide. As always, YMMV.

Your mileage may vary. In other words, you may have a different experience than other people.
