Where to pre-order? DDD, DVD Planet...
Hi, I am not sure if this coming question has been asked before, so here goes. There is a release coming out in May that I would like to pre-order, but since I have not pre-ordered anything before online, where is the best place?
-Deep Discount DVD
-DVD Planet
-CD Universe
-DVD Empire
-Any other online stores I have missed that is good with pre-orders?
Out of the places I have listed, who is better with delivery time and shipping out their pre-orders before or on the release date?
Thank you very much!

Deep Discount is OK, but sometimes slow in shipping (which is free).
If you are only ordering 1 disc, DVDPlanet will get it there really fast, but if you order more than 1 they will likely ship separately and they bill you 2.50 per shipment. There's no "Wait until all items are available" option.
DVDEmpire is okay, too, and you can get free shipping if you order 4 items, but I haven't pre-ordered from them.
Avoid CD Universe.

Shop around. Look for coupons. Look for free or cheap shipping. Use DVD Price Search and all the resources on our Forum.
I order from many of them in the U.S. and Canada (and Regions 2 and 4 when I can't get what I want in Region 1) on a case by case basis and except for fye.com (which arbitrarily cancels orders and does other strange things) I have had very few problems.

Best place I've found is Deep Discount, but check prices closely.
They tend to lower their prices on new releases as the street date gets closer. However, if you want the lower price, you will have to contact Deep Discount and ask for a price adjustment which they will usually give you.
Only problem is that you will HAVE to ask--they will not automatically grant you the lower price since you ordered early!

Thanks for the feedback everybody! I am looking at possibly DVDPlanet as a place to pre-order, but I have just one question. I read on their site that they "hold and confirm" your credit card info, then ship your item. I am wondering if anybody knows how long this "hold and confirm" process lasts, because I have not made an order at DVDPlanet yet and would not want my pre-order too, too delayed. Thanks!

I'm not sure what they mean by "hold and confirm", probably just that they verify the billing address is the same as the shipping address which would just take a matter of seconds electronically. I placed an order with DVDPlanet once, and had accidentally placed two copies of the same DVD in my shopping cart. I submitted the order and about 5 minutes later I got a confirmation e-mail. That's when I noticed my mistake. I immediately went back to their website to try to change the order but couldn't find a way to do it, so I called their customer service number and they said it was too late, the order was already sent to their warehouse and to just ship back the extra disc. This was within 30 minutes of my placing the original order. If I recall, they paid for the return shipping, too. So I wouldn't worry about a "hold and confirm" delay.

I'm also looking at pre-ordering from DVDPlanet, but I was curious if they ever drop their prices once the street date gets closer (meaning once BB or CC puts out their circulars). ANy info would be appreciated.
